Hi folks, Just had a request for this info so thought I would pass it along to y'all. The state of LA didn't require birth/death certs until 1918 (Orleans Parish ONLY prior to that!). Supposedly, Pair shot two judge's sons and fled to Texas in 1850s, where he changed his name to Alexander Jones. I have spoken with Pair's great grandson who now lives in Texas. Hi, I just joined the list today. I am looking for descendants of Mial Pair, 1780 NC -1821 SC. His daughter Susan, born abt.1810 NC, married William E. Kersey, and they were in Claiborne Co., LA by 1834. Her brother, Henry J. Pair, born about 1799 NC, recorded a land warrant in Claiborne Co. in 1843. Another brother, John D.
