I was surprised to find some baptismal ceremonies in the early 18th century in Baton Rouge for children named Boutin. The info. I had before is that Louisiana was founded in 1702 by Lemoyne d'Iberville and a group of Canadians among them there was a Guillaume Boutin. I did not know that other Boutins were

Did not see the name on the information my mother's family had compiled. My grandfather's father was Joseph Hart Barnett who was born in 1830 in Granville Co., NC in 1830. He evidently moved to the Zachary area where he died in 1881.

I am researching the below names:
Pruyn
Robert Legget Pruyn, born 17 March 1832 was my great great
grandfather, I have a great deal of information on him. However, his
son, and my great grandfather, Robert Henry Pruyn, born Sept 1861
appears to have died in Carlsbad , New Mexico. I have been able to find
out little about him.
Also, Robert Leggett's brother, Girardar, appears to have come to
Baton Rouge with his wife also. Mary, his with is listed in the 1870
census as head of household, living

Book compiles information about St. Helena World War I veterans
The latest publication of the St. Helena Historical Association, Inc. is St.
Helena Remembers Her World War I Veterans. This all came about when Inez Tate
located a book pertaining to the World War I veterans of St. Helena Parish in
the Clerk of Court's office. It was a summary of the discharged, listed three
on each page and in alphabetical order.
A contact made with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Baton Roug
As of today, we (Washington Parish Library) have the 1930 La. Population
Census. This census will be housed in Franklinton.
We also have the 1930 Ms. Population Census, which will be housed in
Bogalusa.
I should be finished with them by Monday, so that patrons may come and look
at them.
This is great news, and I wanted you all to know.
