Once again it is getting close to the time of the Stevens Family Reunion.
I am getting excited at the possibility of seeing many friends and relatives
at this year's annual gathering. We will meet again this year at the Hammond
Lions Club on Morris Road on the second Saturday in September, September 14,

I know that Alexander HOGUE was one of the founders of Denham Springs and
that his daughter Mercy, married William DENHAM in 1828.
My gg grandmother was a Mary HOGUE (although HOGANis on her tombstone) who
was born Dec. 15, 1805 and died Oct. 18, 1877. She is buried at the Shanks
Cemetery off Greenwell Springs Road in East Baton Rouge Parish. She married
Daniel SULLIVAN about 1829 and they had 10 children.

SPRINGFIELD - Tickfaw State Park near Springfield will host its first Native
American Day, park officials said.
The event will be held Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entrance fees will be
