To anybody that's related to Wilbur I am updating my book on the Williams family that his mother Margaret Elizabeth comes down from. I would appreciate currently information that I am missing and a very short bio. The book will be over 700-800 pages this time around.

I am interested in any information pertaining to the Corley family who lived in Carroll Parish beginning in the 1840s. I believe the patriarch of John S. Corley, b. 1804, GA, to Edmund Corley and Nancy Thompson. The matriarch was Mary, who was born about 1813. They had the following children:
1.. Marion S. Corley, born in 1831, Montgomery Co., AL; married Cordelia Henry, on 5 Jan 1854, Carroll Par., LA; died in 1859/60, Carroll Par., LA.
2.. Eveline Corley, born in 1833, Montgomery Co., AL; married
Hi Bruce,
Thanks for the e-mail. I have never been there. However, I used to drive
near there when I would take I-20 from Dallas to Jackson.
Yes, it was Carroll Parish and then they split in the 1877 or 1878. I'd
love to go visit because I know there are probably succession records for
Corley and his family.
Good to see another Houstonian. I'm in the Med Center area, not far from
Clayton. Go there often, but they don't have many original records. Wish
we could get them to order from the LDS!
John, have you visited East & West Carroll Parish? It is my
understanding that there are records that still exist that
go back that far.
My great great grandfather was Charles Bruce Richardson. He
lived on the Bayou Macon which is in East Carroll Parish. I
think that it used to be just Carroll Parish. His land was
adjacent to the old location of the town of Monticello. If
memory serves he had to leave in 1864 because of the war.
My brother and I made a quick trip to find his home site in
2004. We met a

Kay,
I searched on my GNIS CD and did not find a Deerfield, LA.
New Question:
Does anyone know where "Cypress Bayou Schoolhouse" and "Cypress Bayou"
were?
I have a feeling they were near Midway, which is now in Richland Par. I
do not find it on the maps.
Nan Harvey
Brenda Sullivan tells me that Deerfield was later changed to Delhi.
Thanks Brenda ! I tried to e-mail you but it kept being returned.

Prudent B. Cambre, a native of Reserve, LA in St. John Parish, has been researching the Cambre family for many years. Michel Cambre and Mathias Cambre, natives of Germany, settled in St John Parish in the mid-1750s. Cambre family members can be found today in many parishes throughout Louisiana and in several other states.
Prudent is planning on publishing a book on the Cambre family early next year and realizes that there is much information he doesn't have because of the fact that the family has spread far

Only someone in Carroll Parish might have these answers. Help!.

Hi,
I've seen the name Illawara while reading the census from the area last
year. I don't know where it was. Many of the areas named by the census
takers were plantation names. Since I was looking for the surnames
PABST, FLEMING, LEFEVRE I wouldn't have noticed Langham.
I rented census microfilms from the National Archives Microfilm Rental
program. You can also rent them from National Archives through your
public library (except for mine because only one person handles that and
he does not work at nigh
My great grandfather Charles L. Langham lived in Illawara, E. Carroll Parish
in LA. He moved from there sometime around 1890. He was married and had
children who all died there. After their deaths he moved on. Can anyone
help me find the names of his wife and children? Illawara is no longer a
town. Someone told me that the town was wiped out by a flood. There must be
some record of the town and records of births, deaths and marriages. Thanks
for any help given.
Does anyone have access to the East Carroll Parish 1890 Veterans Schedule
that can tell me what is listed under Charles LANGHAM? He is on page 30 in
the Craig Precinct.
I appreciate any all help on this. Thank you.

In the book "A Place to Remember" a Mrs. Laugham is listed on page 302. Can
anyone tell me what is written about her?
I am looking for history on my great grandfather. I found him as widowed in
the 1880 census His name was Charles Langham with a son Percy Langham age
2 (b. 1878). I think it was around Goodrich landing and Melbourne
Plantation. Stories from our family is that his wife Ellen Bruce Langham
and a son Charlie Langham jr. died of yellow fever in this parish. It would

Yes I have the 1900 information, but he went to Texas and married in 1898
then back to East Carroll parish, LA with his new wife. I am looking for
information on them in East Carroll Parish between 1870 and 1898. but if
the book has the Fireman's ball in 1883 it couldn't have been the Ellen
Langham as she was dead before 1880 and he didn't remarry until 1898.
My questions are:
Looking for information on him from 1870 to 1890 (Charles, Ellen, Charlie
Jr. & Percy Langham)
When did his wife Ellen Br
