Hi All,
Just wanted to mention that although the Louisiana State Archives in Baton
Rouge says they only have statewide death certificates beginning about 1916,
they do have some death certificates for Jefferson Parish going back to about
1903. They are all together on the beginning of the microfilm roll "Statewide
Death Certificates, volume 1". The names and dates I picked up from this roll
are (I didn't get them all - the library was closing for the day!):
1. Eva M Gunnison, native of Gretna, age 23 d. 1
