Just wanted to drop a line and say how much I enjoyed this epidemics message. I just love the history that surrounded our ancestors. I don't know how the rest of you did in your history's in school but I did lousy. It's better late than not to get it now at this late date. Researchers & Genealogist have to love the history or would not hold the fascination that it does for us. So all of you out there---bring on more of this type of documents. I JUST LOVE IT! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patric

Epidemics in U.S. - 1657 - 1918 If you ever wondered why a large number of your ancestors seemed to disappear during a certain period in history, it may have been due to an epidemic. Epidemics have always had a great influence on people and therefore the genealogists trying to trace them. Many cases of people disappearing from records can be attributed to people dying during an epidemic or moving away from the affected area. Some of the major epidemics in the United States are listed below 1657 Bo

I have his birthdate as 1777 in PA, father was Henry from Baden, who sailed from Hamburg about 1770. Nothing else on Henry. I have Frederick's wife as Mary Thomas of Toulon or Hampshire, WV. My line comes from his son Samuel b. 9/18/1806, d. 5/27/1865. I plan to visit Rockingham, VA to search more of Frederick, so am curious about your comment abo

Hello, I am interested the the Joseph Landis that you mentioned. Since the 19th C. would be the 1800s, was wondering if you have any info on whether Joseph Landis might have had a son, David born in the 1830s who ended up living in Worthington, Armstrong Co., PA and later iin Monongahela, Washington Co., PA? David was my g,g,grandfather via his second wife Mary Ellen Kennedy. Thank you, Marilyn: Lake Co., IL; grew up Belle Vernon, PA. -----Original Message----- From: Halltall@aol.com Sent: Nov 27, 200
