Sue;
What I have appears to be typewritten copies of the original manuscript. They are loose, but could easily be bound. The cover title is as follows:
"The Lord's Vineyard", including the Life of E.C. Latta, 1831-1909. Written and mimeographed by F.F. Latta, at Shafter, California, February 9, 1940.
There is no indication it is copywrited. In Canada you do not have to mark copywrited material, so who knows. I can have copies made at the Office Depot, for about $15.00 US, which should be able to c

I am not sure myself whether this is copywrited, but I obtained a complete copy from the Library of Congress, several years ago. It cost me something like 25 cents per sheet, but I also ordered the entire collection of Robert H. Latta's 49 branches. Is it not already available on our Web site, together with the branches? It is a good, historical episode, worth reading for any Latta.

Hello all,
Does anyone out there have any idea if there has been a Jewish connection with the Latta name at any time, as I have found five Lattas listed in the States under a Jewish geneaology site.
Kind regards,

(I had the information written down on a slip of paper that I got from an
employee in the gift shop and couldn't find it when I put the information on
earlier. I found it now in my camcorder bag.)

Hello All:
I was at Valley Forge this week and they had a computer program of a listing
of all the men who were at Valley Forge, what company they were in and of
their commanding officer. My daughter and I punched in "Latta" and the only
name that came up was as follows:
Moses Latta
State: NY
He was a First Sgt. in the artillery under Brig. Gen. Henry Knox.

We took a three day vacation last weekend and went down to Versailles,
Kentucky in search of information on Matthew Latta. Although we weren't
overly successful finding information about Matthew and his ancestors, we
were able to find some information about Matthew's wife (Mary "Polly"
Williams) and her family. Here is a synopsis of what we were able to find:
According to Woodford County Will Book C Page 305, John Williams died
shortly before 16APR1805. The will shows heirs as:

Hi! Since Paul is retiring, I would suggest that we have an editorial board
to review articles submitted for publication. This board would decide if an
article should be published in our newsletter, and also provide the author
with helpful advice where necessary if there where any rough spots in the
article that needed polishing. I would be glad to serve as a member of this
editorial board if requested.
As for actually assembling a finished product of a newsletter, I have no

Dear Paul & George,
I wonder if we have on our family list a Brian Latta, who works with
endangered birds at the Santa Cruz Bird Sanctuary. My mother, Marceil Latta
(spouse of Walter Allan Latta, Branch 29) was watching the game show, "To
Tell the Truth" on July 17, 2001, when this Brian Latta appeared as a
contestant. She picked him out as the Latta right away, because he resembled
my father.
Thanks for all your efforts on behalf of the newsletter and the web

I am new to this e-mail stuff but have been corresponding via snail
mail about branch 17 of the Latta familyfor a few years. I have
available a lot of materials pertaining to John Latta including a long
hand original copy his will probated Jan. 31, 1866, mentioning bequeaths
to his childen; Catharine Morris, Sarah Jane Nally, Samuel Latta,
Julia. A. Pool, Lucinda Mercer, George M. Latta, John Copeland Latta (my
great grandfather) and also Hearriett S. Latta and Allice Latta, heirs

Hi,
I know that several of you have a Thomas Latta, married to Mary Anderson,
whose maiden name was Black. Do you know if Mary Anderson had any sisters
and if one of them was a Sarah Francis Black? The 1900 census of Sequoyah
Oklahoma lists Thomas Latta, wife Mary Anderson, and his mother-in-law,
Lottie Black. I am wondering how many other children were in this Black
family and their ages.
Thanks for your help.

Hello:
When I visited Washington Crossing, PA, there was a library there close that
has a website that is good for looking up anything that has to do with the
Rev. War. The Library is called "The David Library of the American
Revolution" and its website is: www.dlar.org
You can e-mail them at dlar@libertynet.org
They looked up something for me from an Orderly Book and were very helpful.

Dear Cindy,
We have a Latty descendant who says their branch was in Virginia. There
also was a Joseph Latta in Virginia around 1790, when his wife, Lucy died. I
posted information about him some time ago. Let me know if you want
further info.
We just arrived back home two weeks ago, and we're still trying desperately
to catch up with the weeds in the yard, the mail, and all the other things
that didn't get done while we were away. I'm just going through some of my
many email messages now.

Doc,
How about this idea?
I'll promote myself to Publisher and name you Editor. You and/or an
Editorial Board can screen submissions, word-process the articles and
send them to me. I'll continue to do the layout and mailing of the
newsletter for now.
Maybe next year sometime I can quietly slip into the shadows.

Thanks to all for the replies to date on the above subject. Virginia, the site I mentioned was JewishGen, and I found Lattas listed in California, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky and Ocklahoma.

Look at this one! Do a search for Latta in the Revolutionary
War. There was my Thomas, big as life, York County, and lots of
other Lattas.

Paul and George;
I was a subscriber to the original Newsletter, and when it ended, I was very disappointed, being new to genealogy at the time, and trying to glean as much as possible from this new source. When Paul and George started the Newsletter, it was a rebirth. I thank you both. I doubt if there is another family effort in the world, that has proven so successful. In my small way, I hope I have contributed to your efforts, and pledge to support anyone who has the courage to take over some of the
