Hello again Cindy. I can't answer your question about VA. Again, you're the
only one from the Latta list that I've seen on my screen. since I've been
back on line. I wrote Paul and I thought he fixed something. I haven't seen
anybody's messages but yours. I used to see a dozen messages a day. Are you
seeing much interchange? I would appreciate any advice you could give me.
Bill
Hi! I have been busy researching my wife Karen's ancestor Sarah Josephine
Latta. She is of Branch One, the daughter of Robert Seegar Latta (1826-1900)
and his wife Mary Tumbleson (1828-1907). Sarah was married three times. The
first marriage of Sarah was in 1874 to Hiram Turner Davis (1850-1907), my
wife's direct line. Then Sarah married in 1886 to Saul Marsters (1831-1903).
Then Sarah married in 1907 to John L. Evinger (1840-1917).
Sarah and Hiram Davis were from Noble and Elkhart counties in Ind

A Chicken Case
Police Justice Torrey on Monday decided his famous chicken suit in favor of
G.C. Latta, of Hornellsville. It seems from the facts sworn to that sometime
ago, Latta let Otto Beever have a couple of Heathwood game hens to keep for
him. Latta was to have two settings of eggs. The eggs were not forthcoming,
neither were the hens when he wanted them, so he complained to Justice
Torrey that the official gave Officer Sweeney a search warrant. the birds
were found in Wm. Beever'
Has anyone used this web page? It's pay per view, and I wondered
how helpful it is. It is the Scotland GRO.

Dear friends;
I'm sad to report the passing of Joan Latta, wife of Ian Latta, of Castlethird, Co. Donegal. Joan suffered from MS for many years. She was born in 1954, and died June 18, 2001. She leaves her husband Ian, and three children.
Ian and his family have been instrumental in helping me over the years, in finding all the places of interest to us Latta researchers. They were unstinting in sharing their resources with me, over a period of 25 years.
Their branch is unnumbered, and not connected,
To Bill; Actually, that's an old joke, but sincerely, many of us that used to flood the Web page, are now sending our directives to the persons most affected. Virginia Curulla, who posted a great many querries, is on holidays and won't be back home until July 15. You will find things liven up after that. Whenever I have anything new, or of general interest, it goes on the Web. I contact Lattas around the world on an almost daily basis, and if you would remind me who you are, where you're at, and what b

Sorry! In my old age, I make frequent mistakes. My last communication should have read Joan (WHYTE) Latta, who passed away today.
Alex. Latta (I'm not going to tell you my branch number this time.)

Dear Alex,
I am certainly looking forward to what I may receive next week. And actually next Friday is my 73rd birthday. When I was speaking of old photos (hundreds of them actually), I was referring to my own side of the family. However in a local history book of the Long Lake District of Saskatchewan entitled "From Buffalo Grass to Wheat", there is a picture of Thomas An

First, let me ask you not to hit the reply button. I send many hundreds of E-mails, and always keep a hard copy to attach to replies. When I sent my Irish Opera over the Web, I got back many accolades, together with many copies of my own poem.
Now! It is amazing how things come out when you are persistent, and keep exchanging info that you have garnered, often thinking it irelevant. The correct name is CASTLETHIRD. It is a townland which borders BREADY, CROSS, CLASHYGOWAN and TULLYANEN
