15. military camps [0.90268]
In the Central Louisiana area you had 3 camps Beauregard now used by the La National Guard and other Federal Agencies, Camp Livingston near Ball, La and Camp Claiborne near Forest Hill. Only thing left from the Camp days of Livingston and Claiborne are some roads and concrete slabs where Buildings where. You still see Buildings around CENLA that were moved from the Camps. The Fishville area, which was a popular summer area for families to escape the city during the summer, and the Pollock are

The state of Louisiana will soon have a new search engine. In order for the searches to be more precise, a lot of work is being done in all of the parishes of Louisiana. I'm working on Winn Parish tonight, which means that a lot of folders and files are being moved, web pages have had file names changed, etc. So if you have any problems with a file, please send me the url of the file so I can fix it. Thank You, Jo --- Jo (Castleberry) Branch, LA State Asst. File Manager jojr@earthlink.net or bjcb1967@e

19. New uploads [0.90268]
Hopefully I'll finish correcting the HTML pages this week due to all of the changes from USGenWeb. My apologies for any inconvenices all of this has caused. A new file has been placed in the Winn Parish Archives: from Deborah J. Leonard we received a list of 1952 Calvin High School graduates. There is also a new look to the obit pages. The obits are now being filed by years. The below 200+ obits are now in the archives. Thank you to Gregg Davies for these submissions. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenw

21. Search Engine [0.90268]
The new search engine is Boolean so you can search by any number of options. The credit (or at least part) goes to W. David Samuelson who was kind enough to rewrite the code for both Louisiana and the individual parishes. It is also meant a lot work for all parish file managers. And we aren't through yet! The folders where all of the text files are kept had to be placed in compliance with USGenWeb guidelines. Through the years, everyone became over-zealous in placing extra folders on the text file s
22. Fannie Emma Ewing [0.90268]
Seeking info about Fannie Emma Ewing. She married Asa Watson Irby in Winn Parish. On the 1900 Caddo Parish census, she and Asa had two sons, Abner and Huey. By 1910, Asa was in West Texas. On that census he was listed as a widower. His sons were not with him. I am presuming that the boys were living with her relatives. I would like to know when she died, where she is buried and what happened to the boys. Thanks, Barbara
