Hello to a growing list.
Today we have 156 subscribers to the LAWinn mailing list.
It may come as a surprise to some of you, but I'm currently writing a column
on Family History for the Winn Parish Enterprise. It will contain all types
of information in the column including data, how-to articles, book reviews,
etc. and queries. In fact, some columns may be just queries and/or book
reviews, depending on what is received.
Queries and data will be edited.
The past articles have addressed:

Good evening,
It is my understanding that Dr. Mary Fletcher who published the Grant
Parish Cemeteries book c. 1990 is about to do an update. I have been
approached to assist in doing the Mt. Zion and Union Hill Cemeteries
near Wheeling. I agreed to assist, but hesitated as I was under the
impression that someone had already started these. Was it you, Gaytha?
If so, no need for me to get in the middle of it. If not, let me know
and I'll get back to the lady who contacted me and see if we can get it

Hi,
Wanted to pass on this link. It's awesome. It's the rootsweb ssdi with
a
twist - you can now post notes to the individual's record found in the
ssdi so that other researchers may contact you. Hope you will enjoy this
as
much as I have. I'm sure the more it's used, the more the likelihood
that
we'll find cousins working on the same lines.

I think that I have already inquired with you, but I am trying to find info
on my mothers family that lived in Winnfield. Her mother, Mary Mae Vaughn,
married my grandfather Oct. 13, 1919 and later divorced him and married Odus
Long. Grandmother died in 1935. I would like to see if any one left of her or
Odus' family may have a picture of her in their albums. I have been in
contact with Sue Badeaux, Karen Franks, Bill Holly and others, but no one
has pictures
