Hi,
I just tried to find one of my Haselton ancestors, whose work was done by
someone else in 1975, got others with his name from SSDI, IGI listed as not
responding.
It didn't ask for my password before making the search, as it did a week or
so ago.

Yes, I have been back a few times. Each time, I only have to enter my
username and password. That's all.

By clicking on the film number referenced on the IGI, the link will take you
to the FHL catalog and will tell you in the film notes if that particular
film is restricted. Yes, we still have to go to Salt Lake to view certain

I wanted to share with you what we have been doing in my own ward as we have been having quite a bit of success with it and perhaps it will give some who may be struggling with this calling some new ideas.

Hello Gayla,
When we asked for our family records we found that our grandson did not have
a confirmation date. That says he is not a member of the Church (has not
been confirmed). I'm not sure what to do. I would like to know the answer
to your question also And ask that it be put on the WC-L.

I don't know where you live, but the Membership Records Department, in the
Church Office Building, reunites belongings with people all the time. You
can call them and they will probably request you to mail the item to them,
if you don't live nearby. They will not give out information for you to
send the item to the family.
Someone, in my ward, picked up a briefcase at DI full of certificates,
immigration documents, even a temple worker name tag. They thought I would

I just spoke to a very upset person who answered 800 346-6400. The

I just found out from another Family History Consultant in our ward

List,
Here are the dates the U.S. Federal Census were for the
corresponding year. Supposedly, anyone born after that
date is not listed, even if they were in the arms of
their mother at the time the enumerator was there.
Someone is listed as living, even if they died after the
census date for that term. I have found both in
researching my own family. So beware, many are lost in
the enumerations.

I entered the hyphens with my number and it worked just fine.
Has the online ordinance index been announced officially? I told one of our stake high counselors about it and he said that he had not heard of it through official channels.

Dear brothers and sisters in the Gospel:
I don't think anyone understood my predicament, as I got LOTS of the same

Help,
Once you enter your record number & confirmation date, where do you go next?
I tried entering the name in the IGI and received a "download Gedcom" screen.

I have been checking ancestors in the ordinance index online and noticed that many of the ones I submitted but have not completed ordinances for are marked as "Cleared". Is that because I submitted them or has someone else beat me to it? At what point in our submissions does the info appear in the online IGI? Thanks, Carrie Taylor (carrot@hotmail.com)
In all my 20 plus years of being on staff at FHC's, I have never heard of a
director saying anyone would be let go if... for anything. Hmmm.
I went to the help section at the registration point on www.familysearch.org
and it does state there that staff should not allow anyone, even members, go
to the new IGI site unless they are using their own access. There are
elderly or handicapped people who need all the help they can get and are

Once you have added your LDS info to your "account" at FamilySearch.org, you
never have to add it again. Once you have created a user-name and password,
you always use that. That way, you can sign on and let a FHC patron search
the IGI. I would make sure I have "signed off" when the patron is t
I have been able to access the IGI with my membership data. When I type in
the name of my ancestor the information that comes back is for the typed in

Is there a way to show the couple with their children and dates of their
ordinance work? Or is it just by individuals?
Thank you, Cathy Farris
The fact is that we just don't know if the census taker followed directions
as to the dates, correctly, -- which is why you want to know the official
census dates and the day on which the census was actually taken, -- and we
don't know if the person/family answering the questions answered with a
correct understanding.
