Does anyone have a correct E-mail address for Kerry Davis who in 1999 posted a query about John PORTER Lewis of Munfordville, KY 1860s? I have important information about that John Porter Lewis but the E-mail address for Kerry Davis is apparently no longer valid. It was MalPower@aol.com Thank you. D. 2. [LEWIS] John Lewis of Missouri [1]
I am looking for information on John Lewis who settled in MO in 1803 near what is now Belleview, MO. He married Anne Reed, the daughter of Joseph Reed in Greene County, TN around 1800. They had at least one son that I know of his name was John W. Lewis. This John married Sarah Durham then Hannah Palmer. The children of John Jr. were: Mary Amanda (known as Polly), James Marion, Chauncey, Samuel, and Peter. Any information on this family would be appreciated as I've hit a dead end. Howard Lewis
3. Re: [LEWIS] LEWIS list [1]
I've been going through the archives for the L-Lewis mailing list trying to familiarize myself with the list and I came across the message below where there is a problem with having to sift through posts to the list that are not region specific. Please forgive me for jumping into your conversation but here is a thought.. What if you were to pass the word around to the membership to please use the region in question in the subject/topic for the posts. An example.. I just sent a query to the list where I am
4. [LEWIS] Lewis-Riker-Gibson Pennsylvania [1]
New to the list so please bear with me. I've been doing some research on my family history and am just now getting to the Lewis portion of my family tree. I know very little other than my Great-grandfather James Lewis and his wife Louise (Riker) Lewis are buried in Gibson Pennsylvania. I know it isn't much to go on but if anyone on the list by chance has any information whatsoever I would be eternally grateful. My Grandfather was William Thurston Lewis and was born in 1900. Thank you for any assistance..

9. [LEWIS] subject lines what they should include [1]
Hi, In my lists I have one of the tag lines state about what should be included in a subject line it helps the members remember to use good subject lines. Personally I recieve over 300 emails a day, more if the lists are busy. Many researchers will not even read an email with help or a subject line of that type. You will recieve many more responces by using name date and area of the main subject of you inquiry. The archives also are much easier to read/browse as has been stated. All we really can do
10. [LEWIS] Mrs. Mattie (Dunn) LEWIS, 1899 (presumably in Warren Co. KY) [1]
This is Obit 5 in a series I am posting online. These obituary columns, cut from newspapers of the time period, were found pasted in an ancient dust-covered book at a yard sale I attended in Louisville KY. I'm posting them verbatim in the hopes they will benefit others. I have no further information and have no connection to any of these names. I have no information about which newspapers the original columns were in or the year of publication. Obit 5: Mrs. Mattie LEWIS, 1899 Mrs. Mattie L

Thank you Mr Welch for responding. Unfortuantely I don't know any other information than that which I shared and no one in the family that can answer any questions for me. My Grandfather (William Thurston Lewis) passed away in 1962 when I was 3 years old and to the best of my knowledge I never met any family members of his. I'm not sure if he had siblings or not. Thank you for the clue on Thurston. It gives me a beginning point. Sincerely, Tammy On Fri, 13 Jun 2003, Rich Welch wrote: > SUSQUEHANNA COUNT

Joyce; Thank you very much! I appreciate your post. However I don't manage this list, I do manage the Lewis-DNA list. I also manage quite a few others. Normally this type of mailing would end up in Rootsweb filters. It would say held up for approval from a non-subscriber. So I really don't understand this. Maybe we should report it. But if you're like me you're knee deep in Christmas right now. :-) Janet ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joyce G. Reece" To:

I hope to see it reach over a thousand in the years to come and hope that many others, even those a little less interested in genealogy will become interested in the project for its historical value alone.
