Thanks Fellow Researchers....
I asked about Paresis because there's more to Genealogy than just Names,
Dates,
Places, etc...some of us want to know what our Ancestors went through.
Health
and religious issues become important, too, when you have someone close
to
you, die for unexplained reasons. I, personally, want to know if there
might be
something I can prepare myself & my future grandchildren for.
I didn't intend to step on any toes.
Chris

I just started receiving the Lewis Newsletter and what a treasure of info it is! I can't believe I didn't know about this sooner. It is a quality publication at a good price. (No, I am not paid by the publisher!)
They have been printing this for 10 years! I am trying to find the funds to get all the back issues :)
Anyway, I encourage you to take a look. Their web site is at http://members.aol.com/jimlew/index.htm
They will send you a free sample issue. They also have a sample on their web site.

Gee and I thought all this medical stuff was pretty interesting... I am sorry to see that there are some that didn't think so.
Whenever, I see a thread of messages that I don't find particularly interesting, I use the little key that is marked Del :)

Rich,
I too am staying tuned to the notes. It is amazing how many time the "off
the wall" comments have given me some new ideas about the way things were
way back then. Next thing I know the idea of another place to look comes to
mind. Deductive reasoning needs all kinds of stimulus.

Pay no attention.........not all of us on the list are
complainers.............you explained earlier WHY you wanted to know and
your reasoning DOES apply to Genealogy, no matter what some say.

DELETE!! ?? Thats all I've been doing for 2 weeks. There is no genealogy
on this list, only people wanting special attention. OK, I'm unsubbing, I
guess there are so many subbers on this list that I am not needed.
This is the reason why nobody ever finds anybody on this list! Personal,
continous off subjects should not be permitted!
ADIOS!

Oh what does it matter if it has been printed before here it is again.
THE STORY TELLERS
We are the chosen.
My feeling is that in each family there is one who seems called to find the
ancestors.
To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family
story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. To me, doing genealogy
is not a cold gathering of facts but instead breathing life into the memory
of all our flesh & blood who have gone before. We have been called, as it
were, b
Dear Jim, I just subscribed to your Lewis Newletter for 2000-2001 not
realizing that I would have only one copy left for any queries. So I want to
know how do I sent you queries of my Lewis family? How much can I write in
the query?
Thanks. Wayne Joiner.
I seem to learn something from most
of the off topic posts. I never seem to
learn anything from all the whining.
Darn! now I'm whining too.

This shows names where people have things that someone else may want. I
checked the Lewis surname and seen a will for one John Lewis. There are from
Bibles to just plain postcards..but to me those plain old postcards could
have info on names I never had.
In my opinion it is a great site and glad it's around.

Gene,
Thanx for the response - that's the way I had it in my data,
for exactly that reason, dob's of the two Hannahs would
favor daughter of William as Peleg's wife - but then I
started to notice a lot of web info stating the other, i.e.
that she was daughter of Joseph. Just thought I'd sound out
the list and was hoping you'd respond. At times, it's

Your question about Hannah Lewis is a pretty one. My three best sources
present a somewhat confused picture. You may know that the marriage of Hannah
Lewis and Peleg Ross appears in the Westerly, RI Town Records on Dec. 10
1755. Because Hannah Lewis, the dau. of William Lewis & Mary Gavitt was b.
Mar 1 1736/37 and Hannah Lewis , the dau. of Joseph Lewis & Mary Wilcox was
b. Nov 21 1726, it would seem that Peleg Ross b. 1733 married Hannah Lewis
the dau. of William Gavitt because it is not likely
