The will is on record at the Erie Co. Surrogate Court, Buffalo, NY. It
was written 19 Jan 1839. The testator, Simeon CLARK, died 19 Jan 1841.
He made his second wife, Thankful, his sole executrix. She never had
the will probated. In 1847, Simeon's son Benjamin requested that the
will be proved. It is Doc. # 3851. This information came to me via the
Eden, NY Historian & the Yates Family Group Sheet Exchange.
This is Simeon's immediate family, from that group sheet -

Sam, I realize this isn't your line. However, I've noticed that when
two families marry, it often happens more than once in more than one
generation. So, this MIGHT be a lead to your LEWISes. Kathleen

I'm sorry, I must of missed the post discussing Lewis Lewis, do you have
further details on him? I have a Lewis Lewis, b. 1741 in Spotsylvania Co.,

Do you have any other information with the connection to the Pearson
line? I have Lewis in my in-laws line and Pearson in my birth father's
line.
Thanks in advance.

Bellinda,
Was your grandmother born in TX? Or were they in TX during the Republic
days? If so, there were Lewises and Parkers in the Washington Co. area,
and I can put you in touch with a Parker descendant/researcher.

Norma,
Even though I still haven't found the lead I need for Seth Lewis, I very much appreciate
your time and effort to post all the Lewis information to the list. I'm sure someone was
able to gain some very valuable research material. Thank you for your kindness.

ABOUT ELLIS LEWIS
The youngest and the most distinguished of the four sons of Major Eli Lewis,
in fact the most distinguished member of all the branches of the Lewis
family, was Ellis Lewis.
When a lad of nine years his father died, but his brothers and sisters cared
well for him and gave him a preliminary education.
Time does not permit me to do full justice to the life and achievements of
Ellis Lewis, who in 1855 became chief justice of the supreme court of
Pennsylvania.

This is the Second part of the narrative of POOR 'OMI.

The Lewises began to depart, family by family, from a county that
sang so reproachfully of their family name. Years passed, and report
drifted back that they had settled in Kentucky, just south of the Ohio
River. By 1814, six years after Naomi's tragic death and Jonathan
Lewis's escape and flight, Jonathan himself was said to be living in the
new Lewis settlement, married and the father of a son.
Memory of the tragedy had

They brought their two children with them. They were John Lewis, three years
old, and little Thomas Lewis only nine months old. Edmund was born in
Suffolk, England in 1600. The family sailed from Ipswich and when they
reached America settled in Watertown Massachusetts. Edmund and hi
