I am still looking for the family of William LONG who was born about 1810 in
Georgia. Some in the family think he may have come from around Savanah. I

children were born in Alabama according to TX census records except for the
last two. There was a group of LONGs in Sumter Co, AL in the 1830's that
includes a William. Does anyone know anything about the Sumter Co, AL LONGs?
William was in Smith County, TX by 1847, possibly earlier

The first mention of David is in Cumberland County Nova Scotia Canada.
He married Hannah Harrison in 1843. Some in the family say his arrival was
"from England", and there is some thought that he was from Yorkshire. But,
I can find no record of any David Long being born i

the census reports. Francis was born about 1819 and Rachel was born about
1822.
