Looking for info on my gggGrandparents Benjamin and Elizabeth LONG and their family.
According to census records, Benjamin and Elizabeth were born ca 1760-1770. My Longs are
said to have been from Germany and were "PA Dutch". I do not know if they were born in
America or possibly Germany.
Family records say that Benjamin Long (I assume this Benjamin) served in the Greenfield or
Springfield Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA Militia in the ARW. He is NOT the Benjamin Long
listed in the DAR Patriot Index b. 1757/5

Thanks for the information on Huey P. Long. I could not believe there
was no information on this at the L.SU library when I went there. ( I
graduated from LSU.)
I have traced my line of LONGS back to my gggrandfather James R. Long b.
1789 NC, but I see nothing to indicate this is the same James LONG in
Huey Long's line.
I had a cousin named Huey P. Long. His parents declared they were
related, but I don't believe it. Then, maybe they were. Their Huey ended
up in the penitentiary.

Hello everyone,
Robert Scott Long in Indiana is my most wanted! He's a slippy fellow, never
knowing for sure where he came from. Rumor has it, he is Scotch-Irish. The
story goes that two brothers coming over on ship toghether, one went north and
one went south and to complete the tale one brother was in troublemaker.
Well, I don't know about being any law problems for Robert Scott Long, but I
do know he has been most difficult to pin down. Sincerely appreciative for
any help, ;-) Barbara Long

This is an excellent site! I can't get away from it as I've found so much.
You can print out actual copies of your relatives land deeds from the
government. You can search by name or once you find out what twp/sec. your
relative lived in you can search & see his neighbors! Check it out!!!
