Lynn, There are so many Longs out there, it would help if you added a location too. Looking for Benjamin and Elizabeth Long in Huntingdon Co., PA ca 1800. Moved to Tuscarawas/Carroll Co., OH 1826. Both born ca 1760-1770. Benjamin d. ca 1844 in OH. Benjamin mentions property owned in Huntingdon Co., PA in his Will, but I cannot find Benjamin and Elizabeth there. He is found living in Monroe Twp., Harrison Co., OH in 1850 with his wife Rebecca (JENKINS) and there four sons Thomas, John L., Josiah, and Jeremiah P. Looking for info on my gggGrandparents Benjamin and Elizabeth LONG and their family. According to census records, Benjamin and Elizabeth were born ca 1760-1770. My Longs are said to have been from Germany and were "PA Dutch". I do not know if they were born in America or possibly Germany. Family records say that Benjamin Long (I assume this Benjamin) served in the Greenfield or Springfield Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA Militia in the ARW. He is NOT the Benjamin Long listed in the DAR Patriot Index b. 1757/5

My most wanted LONG: Hiram or Hyrum Long born in E Tn. 22May1796 m. Anna Lakey in White Co. Ill in 1814. Possible brothers William, A. W., & J. D. Long, in the 1861 Tax roll for Barry Co. Mo. they all appeared as being taxpayers over the age of 55. Hiram was killed by a band of Confederate soldiers in 1862, along with his oldest son, when they came to his farm asking his alliance, and he told him he wanted to be left alone in peace to raise his family. Thanks for the information on Huey P. Long. I could not believe there was no information on this at the L.SU library when I went there. ( I graduated from LSU.) I have traced my line of LONGS back to my gggrandfather James R. Long b. 1789 NC, but I see nothing to indicate this is the same James LONG in Huey Long's line. I had a cousin named Huey P. Long. Hello everyone, Robert Scott Long in Indiana is my most wanted! He's a slippy fellow, never knowing for sure where he came from. Rumor has it, he is Scotch-Irish.
