2. [LOVELOCK] Wallingford (Berks) Tree updated [1]
Hello all, First of all, I'd like to wish everyone a very happy New Year - I'm a bit late, but in France it is the custom that New Year greetings can be sent up to the end of January! The Wallingford (Berks) Tree has been updated using a revised version of the corresponding database provided by Robert Sterry. The main changes are as follows: * All place names have been examined and modified where necessary to conform to the hierarchical structure (.. town, county, country) required by
3. Re: [LOVELOCK] Isaac LOVELOCK death [1]
Hey, Guys, Have you checked out the two sites with NZ news files that were flagged up last month? There's a 14-year-old daughter of Isaac's recorded there as giving birth with parents and great grand-parents acting as godparents. Let's concentrate on the living, eh? 5. [LOVELOCK] Reorganisation and additions to the trees and fragments [1]
Hello all, I've made a number of changes to the trees and fragments section of the Lovelock Web site, as part of the on-going effort to enhance the information concerning Lovelocks in London and Middlesex. Following is a summary of the main changes, also available as the entry for 27-Jan-08 on the What's New page: http://perso.numericable.fr/~lovjames/family-history/lovelock/new.html * Created a new page, London and Middlesex Lovelock Trees and Fragments http://perso.numericable.fr/~lovjames/family-
6. Re: [LOVELOCK] Something for a quiet moment ..... [1]
Further developments in the matter of Harriette Elizabeth Knight and her marriages to Frederick and William Lovelock. The Certificate of her marriage to Frederick on 8 August 1851 indicates that he was of full age, a Porter by occupation, and the son of Robert Lovelock, also a Porter. Harriette's father was Thomas Knight, a Hair Dresser. If Frederick was of full age then his father would have to be at least 35 years old, that is, born before 1816. Ancestry's Index for the 1851 Census lists only one Robert
7. Re: [LOVELOCK] Isaac LOVELOCK death [1]
Thanks for the link Nigel - it makes for fascinating reading. A great deal of 'decline' in early NZ, and a worrying number of children dying from teething, including one only 10 weeks old! I noticed with interest an accidental scalding and an accidental burning - as if there might be any other kind. Also I thought that only one death in 8 years from cancer worth noting, as well as only one death in childbirth per year. New year's greetings to all from me as well. 10. [LOVELOCK] A falling out in the family? [1]
Or ... You can't always believe what you read (as if we didn't already know that when it comes to family history issues!) Amongst our 'Lovelocks in Surrey' data are the details of a marriage at St Andrew, Lambeth on 7 October 1902. David Lovelock, 52, a widower, married Jeanette Hines, 36. David was born at Dogmersfield in 1839, and was recorded as being 11 in 1851, 21 in 1861, 41 in 1881, 51 in 1891 and 62 in 1901. Why he decided to take several years off his age when he married we can only conjecture.
11. [LOVELOCK] Shaw Cum Donnington tree [1]
I have been pursuing PCC wills, and the will of Edward Lovelock of Newbury 1730 changes the progenitor of this tree, and links in some more Lovelocks from Kintbury. This is still in progress, but to date : Children of Unknown Lovelock 1) Edward of Newbury, PCC will of 1730. Edwards will names his brothers and sisters, and a number of their children. He left his freehold tenement 'near the bridge' at Newbury to the mayor, aldermen and burgess of Newbury for use to provide alms / almhouses
12. [LOVELOCK] Additional Surrey and Hampshire Data [1]
Hello all Ancestry has just released some more imagery of Surrey Parish registers, so burial data for the following parishes has been added to the 'Lovelocks in Surrey' page: Bletchingley, Byfleet, Caterham, Chertsey, Kingston on Thames (All Saints), Pirbright, Seale, Warlingham and Woking For some reason Ancestry thinks a number of Hampshire parishes are in Surrey, so if you have been searching their Hampshire data without any luck it's worth trying a Surrey search. For instance, as a result of this lat
13. [LOVELOCK] more on Shaw Cum Donnington tree [1]
Further to last post, looking at info on the Lovelock website the will of Thomas Lovelock of Kintbury, proved 1711 names wife Elizabeth, eldest son Thomas, son John and son in law Thomas Elgar. The will of Edward Lovelock of Newbury (1730) names sister Mary Elgar. So there is a link between Kintbury, Newbury, & Shaw cum Donnington, and suggests Thomas d 1711 as the current progenitor of the tree. Helen

19. [LOVELOCK] Daisy, Daisy ... give us your answer, do! [1]
Hello all Somewhere in the Leicester RD: In Apr-Jun 1932 a Daisy LOVELOCK married a William CORT. In Oct-Dec 1946 a William CORT died. In Apr-Jun 1949 a Daisy CORT married a Wilfred E SMITH. In Jul-Sep 1962 a Daisy SMITH died, aged 68. If these records relate to just one Daisy, then she would have been born in 1893 or 1894. Only one young lady with just the single forename of Daisy was born in either of those years - the daughter of William John Lovelock and Catherine Annie Patrick, members of what was o

Hello all Between 1870 and 1920 there are the births of seven Thomas J Lovelocks in the Free BMD data. Within the same period one of the seven died, leaving six to be accounted for. Thomas James born 1875 died 1939 Thomas John born 1891 died 1954 Thomas John born 1894 died 1918 Thomas James born 1903 died 1987 Which leaves: Thomas Joseph born 1877 in Hendon RD Thomas Jeremiah born 1893 in Poplar RD Whatever happened to them? 24. Re: [LOVELOCK] Additional Surrey and Hampshire Data [1]
Hi, Re Hampshire parishes in Surrey - certificates for the parishes that border Hampshire/ Surrey have Surrey & Hampshire on them, and for some reason a number of the Hampshire border parishes records are held at the Surrey Record office. As what Ancestry are putting online comes from the holdings of the Surrey Record Office, it's probably why they think they are in Surrey. The Hampshire border parish records going on line have helped fill in a number of missing details for me. Helen -----Original M
