To all --
Does anyone have information regarding the Basset family of Worcester
County, ca. 1800? Molly Basset married Nathaniel Brittingham in
Worcester County on 12 Dec 1801.
I am trying to tie Nathaniel and Molly to my great-great grandfather
Peter Brittingham (born ca. 1802) or, failing that, to eliminate them as
possibilities.
Thanks, Dan Burd
I am searching for the parents of William W. Adams, b. 1856 and also the
parents of his wife, Florence Leland, 1856. They were married 1878. They
lived on Hoopers Island, Dorchester Co., MD.
There is another William W. Adams, b. 1838, but I do not find my Wm W.
listed as one of his children. He married Margaret Smith. He was buried on
Barren Island, Dorchester Co., Md. All of their children were born after
1865 also.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks,
Arlene Thayer

Hi Rooter`s
Here`s a small bit from a letter from my G.Grandfather (JOHN EDWARD

Hi again,
Just wanted to confirm the plans for the get-together of Lower Delmarva
Roots members and friends for Tuesday, August 5th at the Research Center
for Delmarva History and Culture in Salisbury, Maryland. I'll be there
when the Center opens at 9:30 a.m. (you better believe it!), and will be
there all day. Becky Miller, the director, has graciously agreed to
allow the Center to remain open until 9:00 p.m. (the regular closing time
for Tuesdays is 5 p.m.). This is because Peg Lauridsen, Correspond

TO THE LIST-------------
I sent Shari a reply in private, but I also think the folks out "here" and
"there" that enjoy this and other lists need to say thank-you to the
listowners. This is a big undertaking, (I for one, do not know how), and
very time consuming, AND Who does it benefit?? US! Not the listowner!!
Anyway, THANK-YOU, SHARI for a great job.

Does anyone know who Naomi North's (ca 1768 - ca 1809) parents were?
She married Nathan Busick on 2 Mar 1785 in Dorchester County. Most
published sources assert that her parents were William North and May
LeCompte. So far all I have been able to establish is that Willie and
May had not even been born when Naomi got married.

Looking for information on family of
William BOWDOIN who m. abt. 1740/50 - Elizabeth (possibly Travis). William
was born about 1720/5 in Delmarva.
Who were their parents?
When and where did they marry?
Their son, William also may have married an Elizabeth (possibly Macon) about
1760, and then moved to Granville, N. C.
Would very much like to work with anyone who may have a connection -- in
order to help straighten out the proper line for this family.
Any information or suggestions will be most welcom

Folks might want to try doing a web search for the surnames they are
researching. I did last night and found two different sites which had
lifted pages or parts of pages from my website without even the
slightest mention of where they had gotten the
My ancestor, Nicholas Ready, died 1733 Somerset Co MD. In his will he
mentions "tobacco set aside for the rent." Are there any extant rent rolls
that he would be listed on so that I might try to find where he lived? All
of his children that I have been able to trace settled in or emigrated from
the part of MD that became Sussex Co DE.
Thanks for the help.

Sherri, I do want to thank you for your time and efforts to this DELMARVA
list. The only reason that I commented was because with out identifing that
the work was being copied directly from other folks research, I didn't feel
that it was fair to the other researchers. As you have said I do hope that
this mess is straighten out for all time. Thank you. GENIE456
Hi LDRooters,
See the note below. It tells of a guy named Matt Roller who has been
stealing others' data right off of their genealogy web pages and using
it, unchanged and without permission or credit, on his own site. Those
of you who have worked hard to construct your own web pages and include
records, bible info, cemetery info, etc. will be very interested to read
this.

My ancestor William DODD b 1772/3 VA (county unknown) married Mary or
Sarah Elizabeth SHARP(E) b bet 1770 & 1780 (place unknown). They lived
in Greene Co TN most of their married lives. Do you know of any general
VA marriage books or CD's that "might" list this marriage, since I don't
know the county? Any other advice for someone who is just starting
research in VA?
Hi LD Rooters,
Found a lengthy message in my mailbox this morning that included the
items below. I've picked out the items I thought you'd find interesting.
