An interesting letter. I have to respond via the list as I
accidentally lost the email which included the entire text of the
letter.
First of all it's pretty clear by eastern shore they mean the Eastern

Hello Fellow Researchers,
Is there anyone who can help me on the following? Amelia Abigail is my grandmother and I have the information I need on her, BUT, I can't find any information on Elijah and his family, nor can I get back further on William and Amelia Emily. Of course, any info on James and Vienna will be appreciated also. I believe either Elijah or one of his sons had a business ( furniture, I believe) in Salisbury, Maryland. George A. Adkins

Forgive me if you all have seen this, but it is such a great article , and
you are talking about the same family and the fact Anthony Houston did not
follow the instructions in his brother William's will.

Hello, my Staton Cousins,
I came across this URL for London's Old Bailey. I decided to risk asking for
a Staton, and braced myself for what I might learn. At the top of the list
it showed me was one Joseph Staton, and to my great relief he was deposed as a
witness. The account of the felonious deeds of one John Davis, of St. Mary
Islington. Davis was was indicted for assaulting William Walker Esq; in a Field

him a Coat,

The show did look for the house in Reliance and not Federalsburg. We felt
the segment to be something of a disappointment--mainly due to the team of
researchers sent out to uncover the truth and particularly that of the
architectural historian who seemed to have a lack of knowledge in
architectural matters. But then that is our opinion
Hope this finds all well

Several months back I asked if anyone knew where I had gotten
information on Tyler graves in Gingaukin cemetery, but all the responses I

where I

similar title), which is at the Salisbury library. There were several Tyler
graves from that cemetery, but I do not know if it has the whole cemetery or
just a few contributed by others. Several asked me to le

Hi, I am going to be in Washington dc on a business trip and
plan to take a couple extra days to visit sussex county especially
laurel. I thought maybe the list could give me some suggestions on
inexpensive and safe place to stay. I also need to know where to go to
look up records. I will be taking pictures of family farms if I can find
them. I have lost some of my email + addresses so am looking for richard
james'
email as well as ms donovan who kindly took pictures for me last year.
thanks so much, donna
I have only ambiguous information to offer but I'd like to know more about
BENJAMIN PINDAR and his father EDWARD PINDAR.
They were both overseers on a LEE plantation - no specific name or place.
However, Ed is in Murderkill DE census in 1830 and 1840.
Would anyone have ideas about estate records? Or any other ideas about
where to search for information. Perhaps, hopefully, someone else is
researching this family and can help.
Thank you.
Karen
I also am interested in this WINDSOR info, so please post to list for all to
savor.
Thanks ... and Happy Holiday!

Looking for the parents of ROBERT WRIGHT thought to be born in DE, prob. 1845-1850, making him same age or five years older then his future wife. He probably knew his wife-to-be before leaving DE for Kent County, Ontario, Canada.

Janet,
You know this, but it might be of some help to people newer to research in Virginia. Virginia is unique in that its larger cities (now known as "independent cities") historically have not been a part of any county ... jurisdictionally speaking. Thus, the City of Richmond is totally independent from the two counties that border the city, Henrico and Chesterfield. The City of Richmond has its own separate courthouse, legal records, etc.
This jurisdictional approach poses problems for forms

Jim Houston mentioned "The collected Essays of Richard S. Rodney on Early
Delaware." Does anyone have this, and is it indexed?
I am curious about early Kent County, Delaware (late 1600s to 1750 range),
particularly any Langley or Jackson mentioned as friend and neighbor of the
early Rodneys. It appears that Thomas Langley first acquired a Kent County
DE parcel in the 1730s. John Richardson is another name I am curious about.
I'll go see it at Del. Archives or the History Center if these names are

Thank you to Lorine and Cathy for look ups!!!
With two new John Bradford's added to my already too long list, I'm more
confused than ever. Sure wish my ancestors had been more original in
naming their children.
Thanks again,
