Incredible that you should ask that question. I have only recently been corresponding with our Lumsden group from Scotland about that very fact. According to the records of Lt Col H. W. Dear Mary,
It has been a long time since I've been in touch, but I write with good news. I have made progress on the Lumsden family as also on the Guthrie side. I now believe without much doubt that our Walter Guthrie is the child of James Guthrie and Janet Kemp in Cullen (m.1719). However, on the Lumsden side, I made
hi Lynne, thanks for the wishes and i hope you're having a nice xmas too.
re the roll call, it may be a good idea to ask folk to give brief details about each person. very often roll call's degenerate into a list of anonymous names which could belong to any century, any country. Maybe if folk were advised to give known or estimated bmd's, marriage partners, kids names and who or what event they're seeking &c listers might be able to help or even recognise a forebear.
Some lists i'm on have become so

Yes, I agree with you abt the way the roll call should go. Have run several on myfamily.com site & they don't do anything with. Makes it a waste of time & no one gets the help if they need it.
Do you currently live in Scotland? Several of my lines were from there. Johnstone out of Angus, Dundee or vice versa is where they were.
I hope you will also have a great 2009.

Hello to you possible cousin,
I am Robert Lumsden in Virginia and my parents were from Tennessee. My Dad, George Napier Lumsden was born and raised in Humphrey's County, Tennessee and his father was William Samuel Lumsden. His father was Stephen P. Lumsden whose brother was George F. Lumsden. I know very little about George, except that he married Elizabeth Derryberry from Maury County who had a son, Jessee Jacob Lumsden who married Mallissa Hardison, whose family group sheet is attached. Sorry you didn't get the attached. This is basically all I have on George F. or T. Lumsden. You seem to have better information than I do.
