Good Evening All:
Some of you may know about Myla Thayer. She was a long time resident in the
Mendon-Milford area, and sadly she passed away Saturday 25 April 2009 at the
age of 103 years. She was very interested in genealogy and knew a great
deal about the various Thayer's who lived in the area. Below I have put her
obituary which I got today.

Hi Listers,
I don't know if Myrtle1893 is actually subscribed to the list or not,
yet. She posted some questions on a RI list, which are better suited
for this one. I suggested she join, and maybe we can get her some
help.
She asked about Bennett, in Mendon, Northbridge, Wrentham & more,
and if anyone was researching Jemima Thompson and Thomas Albee
from Mendon.
Hope she is on the list, and I hope someone can point her in the right
direction.
Lisa

Good Morning All:
It this week's saga (newsletter on line) from NEHGS, they have posted an
excellent URL. It is the Hazard Index of Quaker Records and I have been
looking and you might find some people of interest from Worcester Co., and
other places:

I found the best way to wander in this URL is to click both places in the

surname you wish to look at.

Hi List members.
I've been researching the various BENNETT families in several Mass/RI border towns and since Mendon is the Mother Town of so many of them, I was extremely happy to have been referred to this list.
I'm sorry to not have some specific questions formulated for the list quite yet, I wanted to acknowledge the welcome and give you all some background.
I have a database of Mendon Bennetts, Northbridge Bennetts and Wrentham Bennetts going and have yet to be able to link any of them to my l
Hi Sandy,
I have a BENNETT family in the Upton/Northbridge, MA area.
I have a copy of Robert Bennett's will.
They are buried in the Quaker Cemetery in Northbridge, Worcester Co,
MA. I have pictures of their graves.
Robert BENNETT served as a Lieutenant in the 2nd Regt Smithfield
Militia in 1779. He is a recognized Patriot or the Daughters of the
American Revolution.

Good morning, all.
Mendon area names:
Aldrich, Arnold, Bates, Capron, Farnum (Farnham) Hill, Hall, Hayward, Kelley, Mowry, Read, Staples, Taft, Thayer, Trask, Wheeler, Whipple, Wing
Additional MA/RI area names:
Angell, Beede, Bennett, Bosworth, Burroughs, Comstock, Gifford, Howland, Jenckes, and Paine to mention only a few.
Because of Quaker intermarriages in the late 1600s and 1700s, I am probably related in some way to any family at Uxbridge, Mendon, Blackstone, Smithfield, Saylesville
I have lots of information on this Chilson line. I'm off to get an oil
change on my car this morning but will get back to you. Sue

Hi All:
Sandy who is chasing the Bennett's and mentioned Otis Wales yesterday
e-mailed me this morning and said that Otis Wales was buried in Bellingham
Center Cemetery. I looked up the cemetery listing (Susan Salisbury's
cemetery book) and Otis is not there, but is listed in Union Cemetery.
Both cemeteries appear to be on Mechanic St, Bellingham. My question is:
Are these cemeteries one and same? Did the name change from Center to
Union?
There are others who came from the Mendon area who ended up
I visited the cemeteries in Bellingham at one time and I believe these are
separate cemeteries. Maybe someone who lives in the area can shed more
light on the situation. Susan Salisbury lists the following cemeteries for
Bellingham:
Center Street Cemetery on Center St.
Bellingham Center Cemetery on Rt. 140
Union Cemetery on Rt. 140
Depot Street Cemetery
Rakeville Cemetery on Lake St.
Oak Hill Cemetery on Rt. 126
I believe I visited all but Depot Street on one of my trips back there.

Does anyone know the earliest burials in Bellingham cemeteries?
My ancestors(HAYWARD) were listed as Mendon but it turned into Bellingham-I
have not found the graves of any of them---these deaths would be prior to
1820.
I for some reason thought they may have been buried on family land in a
small family cemetery but have no proof of such.
Any input welcome.
Thanks,
Helen
There is a small cemetery on Depot ST in Bellingham. Depot ST runs from
Hartford Ave. to N Main St. The cemetery is just a short ways off of
Hartford Ave on Depot on the left side heading towards Bellingham center.

Dwight, I believe your Samuel is also a sibling of William 2 and
Huldah------interesting we all connected today.
I joined DAR through my HAYWARD fourth great grandfather Ezekiel HAYWARD.
For some reason ever since I began doing genealogy in 1971, HAYWARD has
always seemed to be my favorite ancestors to trace and learn more about.
