Andrea,
Thanks so much for the information. I have a hunch that the Hannah, widow
that you found could possibly be the wife of my James. I will try searching
in that direction. I have been trying to find a death date for James as
well and this will help narrow it down. Thanks again.

Hello again,
I live right next door to Taunton and Bridgewater so if you could give me
whatever info you have on these people, if I find anything in my travels, I
can keep you posted. I just love cemetery stomping and digging for info. I
am lucky enough to be retired at only 54 and like the chance to help anyone
on their search. I have been working on my genealogy for over 25 years now
and have even gotten my 26 year old daughter interested. I just love to do
it for the fun of it. My grandmother
Hi Jim
The Carpenters I am researching are from Rehoboth, Ma. I have traced them
back to William Carpenter who came to Rehoboth, Ma, from England in the
early 1600s.

Hi Andrea,
If possible, would you search for James M. BRIGGS and his wife Hannah in the
Brockton Directory. I know that he was living at one time at 165 Summer
Street. Would appreciate anything you can tell me about him. Thanks in
advance.

Hello again,
Just reread your email and I am related to the Carpenters of Rehoboth,
Bristol, Ma. My ancestor is William Carpenter who was born ca 1605 in
England and came to Rehoboth where he died in 1685. I am descended through
his son Joseph. Unfortunatly, my Carpenters daughter out when William's
great granddaughter Elizabeth married James Winslow in 1687. I would be
glad to share info if this is your line.

Hi there,
I found the following listing:

I did not find anything for the United Congregational-Christian Church.
Maybe if you contact the above, they might be able to give you some info on
the United Cong. Hope this helps.

Hi there,
I think we have corresponded before. I did a search for you and came up with
the following website:
http://home.earthlink.net/~oldewhitechurch/
It is for the United Church of Christ on Maple Avenue, Route 6, Swansea, Ma.
Not sure if it is the one you are looking for but it is worth a try. I do
know that there is a small stone church on Main Street in Swansea which is
real old. I will try to find the name of that one for you. Success I found

Hi Marcia,
I agree with you. I am getting ready to sign for my third year and have
only had a few minor problems. The information I have been able to get from
the site has been great. I love the online census images especially. I
have a large house and my 75 year old mom and 103 year old Gram living with
us so whatever I can do from home has my vote.
Happy Hunting!

I am behind in reading my mail .I do apologize!
I am very happy to do look -ups for anyone and everyone but please be

I type in a surname and zillions come up . Please try to narrow it down.

Polly & Horatio Gates Thurber. I saw that Barnabus and Barnabus Jr.
were in Windham co., VT in the 1790 census.

Is anybody researching the CASSELL line in New England?
According to "family legend" our CASWELL name was originally CASSELL, but
we don't know when the change took place, or IF it took place. There are
plenty of Caswells around, but what about Cassell or Cassel?
My CASWELLS come from Attleboro, Taunton, and Middleboro, MA with links to
Johnston and Scituate R.I. , but my brick wall is Elijah Caswell born 1751
in MA.
I received a message on a message board that the researcher had found that

Thank you, Gil, for responding. I really, really appreciate it.
I'll find out what the other museum is and see if they have anything. I'm
also going to contact someone in Fairhaven where he did some work.
He was in the military - the Navy, right after he left college, but in
Portsmouth, R.I.. That's a good idea.
I already contacted the Association of Architects and they didn't have a
photograph either.
I appreciate your suggestions. If you come up with any more ideas, please
send them along.

Hi, Joan.
Small world. If you saw my recent new Home Page (the first one below), I
showed a photo of my grandmother (Virginia EDGERTON), a twin, when she and
her twin were an infant in 1899, and later, when they were 90 years old (in
1989). My grandmother's twin was Beatrice, and she married Kenneth Potter of
Westport. Kenneth and Bea owned that funeral home for many years. Now their
grandson and his cousin run it.

Hi Cynthia,
Here is what I found on a quick search. Not much in Freetown, but have you checked
Lakeville (once part of Taunton and Middleboro), Middleboro, and South Bridgewater
(once part of Middleboro)? That area was sort of a "no man's land" and people called
themselves of whatever town they wished to be associated with, often changing when
it suited them. The South Bridgewater/Middleboro area was called Titicut.
