Hi Phyllis, From what I understand, Clinton, MA was the most popular destination in the US for County Mayo immigrants, especially those from the Louisburgh area. Clinton had lots of mill/factory jobs and Irish immigrants were welcomed. Many of the Mayo immigrants already living in Clinton would take in friends & relatives as boarders until they could afford places of their own, which made their transition to the US that much smoother. I have Joyce and Grady ancestors from Louisburgh. I did locate

New discovery..Michael Patrick ARMSTRONG came from Louisburgh, Ireland in 1905 to Clinton, Mass. He had 10 bucks in his pocket and headed for his brother Patrick's boarding house on 148 Union St. (if I'm reading the handwriting right.) I am without a clue!!!
