I rather doubt that Robert Potter came from England prior to 1633, if at
all, or that Anthony was born in Ipswich. Robert Anderson in the
authoritative Great Migration Begins series, does not list Robert, which he
certainly would if there were any evidence that he came by 1628.
As John S noted, the first mention of Anthony is 1649 in Ipswich. I find no
birth, marriage, or death VR of Anthony or Robert anywhere in Essex County.
For Anthony's 1st marriage to Elizabeth Whipple?, Torrey Marriages does not

Hi Kathy,
I perked up when I read your response to Dorothy, describing your Potter
line. My mother was a Potter, so when I got interested in genealogy a few
years ago, I started trying to trace that line. I found them living in
Salem, Ipswich, Hamilton and Wenham, and going back to Robert Potter who
came from Coventry, England (in 1600) and his son Anthony who was born,
married and died in Ipswich.
Do you know if there is a published genealogy of this line of Potters? My

Hello listers.
I am looking for any information on the Lord family name. I have an Edward Lord married to a Helen Remick in our family and would like to know more about them.

Greetings! I'm wondering whether anyone on this list knows where Gov.
Endicott (1558-1665) lived when he was governor. I believe it was in Salem, not
Boston, but I'm wondering WHERE his house stood. (I presume that it is no longer
standing.)
I'm also looking for images (paintings, etc.) of Endicott's house.
Please reply to me directly because I'll be unsubbing from the list. I
appreciate your help.

Susan,
Thank you very much for the information on my Pomeroy family. You provide
probable cause to assume that my published sources--wich give no original

I'm not sure if anyone else is having trouble with Ancestry.com but it seems the
past couple of days I can not view census images. My computer just freezes up.
So I was wondering if someone would be able to look a couple for me in the 1900

They will probably be in Beverly, Essex County, MA
John M. PRESTON, abt 69 (I have also seen it spelled Prescott)
Lydia PRESTON, abt 65

In the Essex County Probate Index by M L Sanborn I found Docket 23808
dated 8 Oct 1805 where Dorcas, Esther, George, John, Richard and Solomon
were minors. Looking at the GVRs I cannot find parents that had all of
these children after 1784.
Does anyone know who were the parents of these children?
TIA, bob gillis
Please ignore this query. I found the answer in the Scituate on-line

I agree that Anthony was probably not born in Ipswich.
On 12 Nov 1668 Anthony made a deposition in which he stated
that he was aged about 40 years. See: Records and Files of the
Quarterly Court of Essex Co. , vol IV, p. 82. This is probably
why most secondary sources say he was born about 1628.

Would anyone have any information about Revolutionary War service for Lemuel/Samuel Tucker of Gloucester? (the names seem to have been interchangeable).
He was born 1754 in Gloucester, and his family moved to New Gloucester during the 1780's or so. There is a legend his father was killed at Bennington, but he appears to be the Lemuel in NG in 1790 and 1800, while his son was in Shepardsfield and Holmanton. A brother, William, was also a veteran. Anyone else researching these folks?

Dorothy,
Most of your surnames I do not have in my line but I do have extensive Potter's
in my family but my Potter's are out of Ipswich and were there in the 1600's -
early 1700's. Not sure if there is a connection there or not. My family was
very prominent in Salem, Beverly, Ipswich, Hamilton and Wenham until the 1900's.
Let me know if you think there may be a connection to the Ipswich Potter's.
Take care and Happy Holidays.

Jeanne,
I have Robert Morgan's parents as Sir. William Morgan and Elizabeth
Morgan. I got this information from Ancestral files from The Fanily
History Lib. in Salt Lake City. This is the only source that I have for
his parents. I do have more information on Sir Williams Morgan's
ancesters. Who do you have as his parents?
I am a descendant of Robert Morgan brother, Miles Morgan.

I was looking on the Millis website and there are several pantograph photos of the Millis Home Coming Celebration Held Sept 7, 1946. I have a program from this celebration as my mother was a Wave in the Navy during World War II. She is in one of the photos in uniform. I was wondering if any list members know how I can get a copy of this photo. My mother is 80 and would love to see it.
