1. LEWIS / BEDELL / ?? "Local Band," 1940 [1]
Hello, I have a copy of a "flyer" for a local band in the Windsor Locks, CT, and Holyoke, MA, area and it is dated in January 1940. The local band was called the "LEWIS Swing-Billies" and a photo of the band is included in the flyer. They were to be playing at the Mountain View Club in Willimansett on January 23, 1940. The bandleader was my grandfather, Silas Dean "Cy" LEWIS, and three of the "teens" in the band were his BEDELL step-children, Evelyn, Dorothy, and Albert.* Because of the Internet
2. Abbie Electa Wright/Eben Johnson [1]
Looking for date of marriage for Abbie/Abby Electa Wright and Eben Johnson, probably in Northampton between 1878 and 1880. Any help appreciated. I've checked Amherst side of the river and marriage did not take place here. TIA, Pat

Hi Jim, A really neat article that someone did a bunch of research on. Very interesting. Did you ever run across any other information on our Edmund/Edmond Gould that we believe to have been born in or around Amherst in 1762 and warned out on Christmas day of 1764. I did get microfilm of his letters to the New York Rev. War Pension Board requesting his pension, written bet 1831 and 1833. One of the letters was an affidavit written by his mother, Elizabeth, in 1831at the age of 91. I don't find any

Hi Sue, Yes, I did post to 3 Lists. Something I noticed, sometime last year ??, was that we used to see which Lists the query was posted to - no matter which List you were looking at. But, then you couldn't. I think RootsWeb should return that feature. For instance, if someone posts a query or message on 10 Lists at the same time, you would be alerted to that fact. Also, someone responded with information which shows that a relative of Mrs. Yvonne LEWIS's might still be living in her home o

Hello Betty, I can't help but I just wanted to say that your story is very interesting. Do let us know if you find those Jarry grandchildren! Since Chicopee is in Hampden Co., MA and Windsor Locks is in Hartford Co., CT, I do hope you have posted to those lists too. Sue Susan M. 6. JARRY, FONTAINE, MOISE in Springfield area - Currently [1]
Hello, As per my other posting of this morning, I would like to repost my interest in locating descendants of my grandfather's third wife. She was: Mrs. Yvonne (LAMOTHE) (JARRY) LEWIS who died in 1983, presumably while still living at 173 Summit Ave. in Aldenville (Chicopee), MA. I have recently obtained a copy of her death notice, and it said that she was an active member of the Chicopee Golden Agers. She had been born in Canada (Quebec), and had been living in Chicopee for more than 5
7. BOUTIN, McCAVOUR, BEDELL, SHAW, LEWIS [1]
Hello, I'd like to say that I made a small mistake when I posted my query yesterday. I had mentioned that I had found 3 of my BEDELL step-cousins, who were daughters of my grandfather's two step-children, Dorothy and Albert. Actually, two of them were daughters of Shirley BEDELL. I was reminded by looking through my notes that Dorothy was the oldest of the four, and she was probably a child of a previous marriage, so her name would have been Dorothy McCAVOUR (not BEDELL). The only thing I know ab
8. Thanks for help in Northampton [1]
I would like to thank all the listers who helped me with my quick visit to Northampton to see the house of my GrGrGrandfather Bradford M COUCH on Sunday, May 22nd. With my trusty GPS unit only half working (I had deleted the sound module that announces the turns), we still managed to drive right to the door of 13 Cherry St to see the bilious green home Bradford bought in 1865. I took a number of pictures and would be glad to forward a shot to whoever would like one. I stepped inside the front door to fin

Hello Brad and list I don't have a digital camera, but I'll try to find the Couch gravestone for you this summer. The Corbin collection does cover Bridge St. Cemetery, and if someone has it on CD, they might be able to pass the info along to you. There was another Couch family in Northampton in the 1860-70s, a C.S. Couch. I've been reading through Hampshire Gazettes in the 1860s-1870s, keeping an eye out for B.M. Couch and have been saving the following two items for you. Hampshire Gazette (Northampton
