Hi Folks,
GDMNH mentions a court being held at the house of Thomas Williams at Winter Harbor in Feb. of 1636/37. This must be one of the earliest courts held in Maine. Mention is made of a dispute between Williams and Thomas Lewis, apparently over a "combination."
I'd appreciate heaing more about this combination and also any further details regarding Thomas Williams.
All help greatly appreciated.

Papers on Maine
Since Maine was part of Massachusetts from the early colonial period
through 1820, there are many records in the Archives pertaining to the
settlement and settlers of Maine. The "Massachusetts Archives" collection
contains a variety of Maine records dating from the 17th and 18th
centuries; the Maine records are not grouped separately within this
collection, but are distinguished by county. General Court records,
including both passed and unpassed legislation, contain petitions,

Looking for the link here. The furthest I've been able to confirm is Edgar

as verbal history from those that knew Grandpa Edgar. Family stories have it
that the heredity is Irish and Passamaquoddy Indian. However - I can't get
past Edgar - I believe it's possible he is either the son of Charles o
