I recently discovered my greatgrandparents lived in Lowell prior to moving to Chicago in the 1880s. They are John MC DERMOTT (born Ireland) and Phoebe (Pheba) WRIGHT (born Canada or Wales). My gg-grandfather Jan Christoffel Helsens left Gent Belgium on 4/5/1904 and went to Lowell MA, staying for about four months and arriving back in Gent on 8/26/1904.
