Hi MFinn,
My Martin family lived in Bradford, and then Chelmsford, MA. My
gggggrandfather, William Martin, a revolutionary soldier, moved to
Windham Co., VT and then to Chautauqua Co, NY in about 1811. From there
the family spread to OH, WI, MN, etc. Let me know if any of this matches.

Hi,
I'm new to this list and am wondering why there have been no info and no queries re Martin's in England or Canada.
My gg grandfather Alfred James MARTIN and wife Elizabeth ANDREW came to Canada on their honeymoon in 1856. They
settled in London, Ontario then to St. Marys then to Port Hope.
My web page is below and ask that you check it out and see if you might have a connection. Thanks.

I have more then one Martin family
I will post them on different posting
First is
Frances Marion Martin wrote a bio for "Wise County History" and it is in
Vol. 1. In it he says he was the son of James Parkson Martin and Mary Wilson
Martin. (I believe Mary Wilson was a descendant of Jonathan Martin of Hardin
county TN, which is where the "cousin" came from.) Anyway, here is a quote:
"James P. Martin was a minister of the Gospel, beginning his preaching in
very early years. His family consisted of four sons
I don't find them in my Martin books.............Sandy

Robert:
From the Martin Family Quarterly's, could you pass on to me
any mention of Jonathan Martin? He was in Hardin County TN in
1820, 1830, and 1840.
Many thanks and it is very nice of you to make this offer.
Frank
