It has been a while since I have posted my Martins to the list. Noticing the
heavy traffic lately, I am hoping there are some new people that might have
connections to my Martins.

Hello, I am also interested in the MARTIN family that marries your KITE
lineage. WE have a MARTIN name in Choctaw co. alabama that marries into the
DODD family, which in three places marries into the KITE family.
I have loucendia (Martin) dodd who is born about 1802 in SC and is located in
the 1815 census in johnson co. NC and in the 1830-census in clark co.
alabama, 1840 census in washington co. alabama and in 1850 and 1860 in the
choctaw co. alabama census. She is said to be buried in Bladon springs
Hi Janet,
Maybe you can help me. Charles Caffrey is one of my ancestors. I have not done much research on this line, but if you have any questions I may be able to help you. I was hoping you could tell me what you know about him and his family. All I know is that his daughter, Rachel, married Thomas Martin.
Also, I have an Elizabeth Baugh who married John Y. Staples in Campbell Co., VA on 8 Dec 1800. Do have a record of this Baugh? I have been unsuccessful in finding out who her parents were.

I know nothing about the William Martin who married Amanda Osborn. He is on
the 1880 census living in Sebastian Co. with Amanda (his wife) and their
children: William C., Mary P., Mattie L., and James. I have their marriage
license and that's about all I know.

I have now added an incredible amount of new information to my genealogy web

http://popp-family.rootsweb.com/ I have GEDCOMs (I highly advise visiting
the Popp GED at WorldConnect which is accessable from my home page),
Genealogy Reports with text and photos of ancestors (some of them quite
distant relatives), as well as links and resource pages. I'll post my list
of surnames below. Thank you! Teri Shaw Popp

Good idea about the "present tree". We put up 2 trees. One we call the
fairy tree. I started it years ago thinking that it would be easier for the
girls when they married, to "rotate" holidays if we celebrated two days (I
always hated the pull I got from the in-laws). I am the fairy and only gave
the presents under that tree. Well they are married now and there isn't any
"rotation" . We still celebrate 2 full days and I still am the fairy. My
girls are the ones that are keeping me in check thi
I can tell that I have seen the Baugh spelled Bough in Greene Co. TN.
My family that is closet to Baugh is Linebaugh and in 1700's was spelled
Leinbach.
As for the Martins I don't have much on them. You are welcome to look at web
page and see if it helps.
Have you ever go to Google? The only way I can tell how to find it is:
go to www.Yahoo.com
Type in a surname and look at the top of the page and you will see Google.
Good luck

bob,
i too am on the martin mailing list, and though we are not from the same
martin ancestors, i just had to email you. my great grandmother was mary

Janet Hunter and other list members,
Martins and Cal(l)aways were in Jasper County, GA, in the early 1800s. Martin Calaway (b 1805, Jasper Co.) married Eliza Smith, sister of Sarah C. "Sallie" Smith, who married James L. Martin. It's probably purely coincidental that Martins and Callaways are both on your list of families, but I thought it
was worth asking if you or anyone else on the list had seen a migration of these families (or others) from Chesterfield County, Virginia, to Georgia, or, perhaps to a
That is why I was so excited to see that listing of my

is the hardest part. Now Isaac is the last one I had but
they are there together.
Thank You.

Hi Patty-
I don't think that our Jesse is the same one! But, you never know----your

Thank you SkyDancer. If I find any more info...I'll let you know. If you
want more of the Martin lineage let me know. I can take a lot of it to the
present but Isaac was my stopping point. Patch

Does anyone have a Judith or Judah Martin in Amherst County during the
1830's, or 1840's? She is mentioned in many of the land & personal
property tax records. Her land is near a Wm. Hartless parcel.
I believe she may have inherited the land from either a husband or
father.
Thanks,
Phyllis
Someone was asking about a Thomas Martin. Here is a message that appeared
