Rhonda...you made a funny! I got a chuckle outta that! I think in this case,,he had "an interest' in a drugstore or whatever they called a pharmacy back then...we called ours "the drugstore" You may have hit on something...although I blame my lack of info on the naming of same names, and in lack of records left for us to find.. Anyhow...goodluck. Stella

3. [MARTIN] Home from Chattanooga and points south [1]
Got home yesterday afternoon after about 12 hours because of a delay in Dallas because of a rainstorm. Was a great trip! Expected to do Prince and Whitley genealogy but did more Morgan and Hulsey. Stayed at our cousin Phil's house part of the time. He has a great place and we had a great time. Wish we could have had more time. I know this is poor manners but while I was at Phil's house I found a secret he would like to keep hidden. But I feel you all should know this. He is still our cousin but He is a

Hello Karen, Could your Sarahann be Sarah Ann? And do you have an approximate time of the marriage or this woman to Isaac Martin? I am researching the Isaac Martin line that was related to the Lewis line in Virginia and one of them married a Sarah - I may have something in one of my databases. My Martins were and are well respected, too, but every family seems to have their blacksheeps and I've never believed in keeping skeletons in the closet. Isn't that what genealogy research strives to achieve? Life and Law was a lot different in some states in the 1800s and early 1900s. I have one Martin cousin in my ancestry who reportedly went to prison for killing a man. After a 2 year sentence, he was released but upon his return to his home in Texas, he was murdered by someone else. I'd love to fin
13. [MARTIN] Martin>NC>Ky>Mo [1]
There are several people on the Madison Co. Mo. list that are discussing Martins that came there from NC and Ky. Some of the names are Sarah and Jesse. I belong to the list because I am looking for Moores and Millers in that area, not Martins. I just thought that I would alert anyone with Martins that may have moved to that area. Joyce, I've had this book for ages. I paid an arm and a leg for this book plus a brand new copy of another book but I'm very thankful for it. Either a microfilm or a microfiche copy of this book can also be obtained at your nearest LDS Family History Center (for use in the library only). Small portions can be printed off. I understand the Church has a project that will eventually put all its records on line, free of charge (if no copyright violations are involved), if you want to wait a few years. Bob Evans
