this case,,he had "an interest' in a drugstore or whatever they called a
pharmacy back then...we called ours "the drugstore" You may have hit on
something...although I blame my lack of info on the naming of same

Anyhow...goodluck. Stella
I must have missed the original post....not so different from today! Maybe
we should start checking prison records for more of those brick walls!

Got home yesterday afternoon after about 12 hours because of a delay in Dallas because of a rainstorm.
Was a great trip!
Expected to do Prince and Whitley genealogy but did more Morgan and Hulsey.
Stayed at our cousin Phil's house part of the time. He has a great place and we had a great time.
Wish we could have had more time.
I know this is poor manners but while I was at Phil's house I found a secret he would like to keep hidden. But I feel you all should know this. He is still our cousin but

Hello Karen,
Could your Sarahann be Sarah Ann? And do you have an approximate
time of the marriage or this woman to Isaac Martin? I am researching
the Isaac Martin line that was related to the Lewis line in Virginia
and one of them married a Sarah - I may have something in one of my
databases. Shirley

I'm so glad you wrote; you give me hope.
Mary McDowell , born c1724 Lancaster Co PA; died 1801 Lincoln, Co, NC,
married John
Martin in PA. They were parents of Josiah Martin, a Revo .War soldier.
Who were Mary McDowell's parents?

My Martins were and are well respected, too, but every family seems to have
their blacksheeps and I've never believed in keeping skeletons in the
closet. Isn't that what genealogy research strives to achieve? Life and
Law was a lot different in some states in the 1800s and early 1900s.
I have one Martin cousin in my ancestry who reportedly went to prison for
killing a man. After a 2 year sentence, he was released but upon his return
to his home in Texas, he was murdered by someone else. I'd love to fin
There are several people on the Madison Co. Mo. list
that are discussing Martins that came there from NC
and Ky. Some of the names are Sarah and Jesse. I
belong to the list because I am looking for Moores and
Millers in that area, not Martins. I just thought that
I would alert anyone with Martins that may have moved
to that area.

Hello Barbara,
Do you have any Isaac or James Martins in your Andrew Martin of NC
line. I am searching for a James Martin, said to have married or
had a child with a Tabitha Martin Martin, her maiden name said to
be Martin as well. My known ancestor is Charles D. Martin, b c 1818
in NC, said to be Burke, NC. Any help greatly appreciated. Shirley

Joyce, I've had this book for ages. I paid an arm and a leg for this book
plus a brand new copy of another book but I'm very thankful for it. Uncle
Thomas Benge family is in there but since my Grandfather (Thomas'
brother)Old Trader had deserted Elizabeth and gone to the Cherokees he is
not mentioned nor is his children by Elizabeth. Oleta

Either a microfilm or a microfiche copy of this book can also be obtained at
your nearest LDS Family History Center (for use in the library only). Small
portions can be printed off. I understand the Church has a project that will
eventually put all its records on line, free of charge (if no copyright
violations are involved), if you want to wait a few years.
