4. Re: [MARTIN-HENRY] Lucy Martin [1]
Thanks for quick reply. I have that Lucy as well in database. This is Lucy wife of John 1848-1813. After John died in Spots Co she moved to KY and died ther 1834. She is cited in a will as the grand daughter of a James Hawkins but I can't figure out if it is maternal or paternal. Sure miss talking with Kay and Peggy. Benjamin 1st cousin to my John. John s/o John and Ann and grandson of Henry. Ancestry has my John married to Lucy Todd which has never panned out for me either. Wrong age wrong place

Hi Theresa, long time since we have talked to each other. Your dates on This is Lucy wife of John 1848-1813. are strange. I am assuming you mean 1748 -1813? Peggy and Alicia Tipton gave me the information of Lucy Todd and John Martin. They stated that Todd and Hawkins were her parents. I just came across a marriage record on-line stating 05 Nov 1742 in King George County, Virginia a Lucy Todd and John Martin were married. Yes of course a typo 1748-1813. Sorry. The marriage of John Martin and Lucy Todd in 1742 in King Geo Co cannot possibly be the correct Lucy who married John 1748-1813 of Spotsylvania County. And it now has been duplicated on several places on the web which frustrates me. Lucy is buried in Jessamine County, Kentucky and her tombstone gives her birth date as 3 Dec 1761. She was much younger than John. Their first child was born between 1780-90 which fits her coming of child bearing years. John who dies in

I totally agree. My daughter, Stephanie and I were looking at this and it just doesn't make since. I think everyone is linking this family wrong. There has got to be another generation in there we are missing. Is it possible they have the same names? Yes, of course, we see that a lot around this time frame. I have another line (Gunnels) that is the same way. Everybody named everyone with the same names and it is has made it really a lot of fun working it out. Let me throw this out to you. Is
