2. [MaSouthEssex] Pre-1850 Essex County Mass. wills online [1]
Katherine, This is not new!!!! The project originally belonged to Bob Bamford through his Essex Books site and is the result of his creativity and dedication. I am pleased that the project has not descended into cyber limbo, however. Claudia (a contributor)
3. ANDREWS/HORTON -- Marblehead, early 1700s [1]
Hello Folks -- This has been a dead end for me for a long time. I've posted queries on these listservs several time, without results, but new members show up on the listservs and people occasionally dig up "new" information. So here goes. Sarah HORTON was born 12 Jan 1734/5 in Marblehead. Her parents were married at Queen Anne's Episcopal Church in Newbury on 30 Sep 1734. Her father was John HORTON, born 12 Sep 1715 in Marblehead. Her mother was the widow Rebekah ANDREWS, about whom I kno
4. [MaSouthEssex] ANDREWS/HORTON -- Marblehead, early 1700s [1]
Hello, Have just started to work on your query, and right away spotted a wee problem...John Horton was indeed recorded as having been born 12 Sept. 1715 (not mentioned as "bp" and no parents mentioned, although there was a Richard and Mary who had later children at Marblehead, including a son, John, bp. 7 Jan. 1727-8, St. Michael's) at St. Michael's but a John Horton is also shown in the Marblehead vrs as having been buried 14 Sept 1715, St. Michael's. Co-incidence, perhaps....perhaps not. Still workin

Thanks, Claudia. This business of "buried 14 Sep 1715" is new to me. Thanks for the tip. There were a bunch of Hortons in SE Mass, down toward New Bedford, but I've never found any that fit so well as the one born in 1715 in Marblehead. Who knows? Maybe some new guy fresh off the boat from England. Thanks for that info. I like to see credit given where credit is due. As a matter of fact, the will pages still have the Essex Books logo and tag line on them, so apparently Rootsweb/MyFamily.com feel the same way.
