Julius A. Mathews was born April 17, 1849, in Chariton County, Missouri. His
father, Samuel Mathews, was born in October, 181
In 1830 Walter Matthews b 28 May 1805 KY was on the census in Walker Co. AL.
In 1860, 1870 he was in Marion County AL. I have checked all the printed
indexes, and the original census in 23 counties in AL, but to no avail. He
died 25 July 1863 and is buried in Marion County AL.

I am looking for any information on Lucy MATTHEWS who m. Joshua NELSON.
Lucy MATTHEWS would have been born "somewhere around" 1800 and died Jan 17,
1888.
Lucy MATTHEWS and Joshua NELSON had one known dau. Rachel NELSON (b. early
1800s) who married Peter D. SMITH.
The family could have come from the US and into Ontario.
They are buried at:
Cemetery, Lincoln Co., Ontario
Highway #20 Fulton, Grimsby Township

I have an elusive great great aunt by the name of Edith MATTHEWS who was
born in Rugby Warwickshire 1877 and in 1891 she was living with her father,
step mother and brother John (my ancestor) in Merrow Guildford Surrey
England.
Edith became a "nurse" and eventually married and had at least 3 children. I
have photographs to confirm this, but No trace of Edith has been found.
It is possible that Edith, aged 21 in 1898 was so inspired by the Nursing
Association that was created in Merrow Guildford Surrey dur
