Have you tried researching any of your search terms in the Google Books
site to see if they have anything?
Go to www.Google.com and then search for "Google Books" and it will be
the first or second link. Very helpful site, with a lot of New England
material and more gathering all the time.

I just checked the list archives to make sure. The spams are coming
through the list, because they're in the list archives, maybe seventy of
them. It was hard to count them. The last one the archives shows was
posted at 6:23 PM, long after the list owner said early this afternoon that
she had set the maximum size of list posts at 40 K.
I do know a list owner who knows how to verify whether they are really
coming from lrsears' e-mail address.
If his web site is autosending this stuff, why isn't

NOW as to all the mail.....sorry about that. It isn't Ray's
fault. The mail software caught all the posts as too large. { I
have it set to 40KB per post, but I can override that] As the post

Sue's statement is accurate but it omits something of which she may not be
aware.
The new list software that Rootsweb adopted is extremely unforgiving. The
list moderators have lost a lot of the control we had under the old
software.
A single bounce from an ISP due to a full mailbox will cause that person to
be unsubscribed from the list. The subscriber will not even be aware that
they have been unsubscribed because the notice will not get to them because
their mailbox is over quota.

Adele, you haven't spoken to whether lrsears really sent the spam.
If any of you respecters of lrsears happen to have a phone number, or even a
place of residence, I'll be glad to call him up and check. But if he sent
it, I'm complaining to the full extent of the law. Nothing excuses this.
If you all don't mind 4 megs of spam a day, tell him to send it to you
privately.
But - does he happen to live on Cape Cod? I'm familiar with the place, my
brother in law's father lives there. It's actually

Unsubscribing from this list, one of the first I joined, because I don't
want to be on a list that includes Dora Smith (an obvious lunatic) and John
Slaughter (who sounds very full of himself). People MISTAKES happen, get
over it. I think the list administrator should be stepping in here to tell
these people to back off. I am so sick of these email bullies who take any
opportunity to beat up on any one who makes the least little mistake. It
is why so many people just lurk on these lists, because they see

Hello...I have been looking for my ggggg grandfather Caleb Parker. Caleb
was a master in the English Navy and removed to Canada at the time of
the British Evacuation. While in Canada a son, John H. Parker, was born
in Nova Scotia 1793. They returned to Massachusetts in the
1800's...sorry that I don't have better dates....I have information on
his son right up to this minute...but his father is a brick wall. There
are several Caleb Parkers and I'm not finding one that had a son in Nova
Scotia in 1793/
