Have you read what Caleb Johnson has about Edward Leister on his Mayflower Web Pages at http://members.aol.com/calebj/passengers/html ? Eugene Aubrey Stratton in his "Plymouth Colony - Its History & People 1620-1691 (Ancestry Publishing, Salt Lake City, 1966, p. 317) states: "LEISTER, EDWARD - A 1620 Mayflower passenger, Edward Leister was called by Bradford (Ford 2:400, 411), a servant of Stephen Hopkins who "after he was at liberty, went to Virginia, and ther dyed." 5. Coffin, not really on topic [0.985621]
Harlow, Would you mind saying what about Tristram turns you off? A couple of other people asked, so I ask the indulgence of the list for a brief, off-topic reply. Tristram had the notion he would set up the colony on Nantucket along the lines of an English estate with Tristram in charge. In this he wasn't so very peculiar for his time, but not everyone else on the island felt like being a peasant and Tristram didn't exactly play fair--by our lights anyway. It's a complex story, but a fascinating one with

The fastest way to get this information to you is through the list. A weekend of one-after-another meetings means that changes to www.mayflower.org won't happen this week. The new Doty volume traces descendants through "sons Isaac and Joseph and daughter Mary." Hope this is helpful. Hi, With all the discussion of Minors, do you have any information on the family that Thomas David Minor belongs to. He married Delilah F. Ferrell in Halifax Co., VA in Dec 1807 so I figure the was probably born between 1780 and 1787. He went to Wilson Co., TN shortly after marriage and served in the War of 1812. After a few years there he moved to Jefferson Co., IL, where he remained until his death about 1838. Any information or direction greatly appreciated. Doris Tartt SPegler919@aol.com wrote: > > In

Two excellent sites for Pilgrim/Mayflower history are: 1. Duane Cline's "The Pilgrims & plymouth Colony: 1620" at www.rootsweb.com/~mosmd/ 2. Caleb Johnson's "Mayflower Web Pages" at http://users.aol.com/calebj/mayflower.html Governor Bradford, in his "Of Plymouth Plantation," mentions Kent only in a copy of a letter from Robert Cushman who was sent from Leiden to obtain provisions for the trip. Samuel Eliot Morison's edition of this work, published in 1959, has a footnote stating "Apparently Cushman visit
