1. Isaac McCullom of Harris Co. Ga & Lee Co., AL [1]
I'm looking for the parents and siblings of a Isaac McCullom (b. Jan. 13, 1820 in GA and d. May 19, 1900 Lee Co., AL) who married Lucy M. Oliver, daughter of Henry Shelton Oliver, on Sept. 23, 1845 in Harris Co., GA. By the 1850 census, they were living in Russell Co., AL. During the 1860 and 1870 AL census (during the Civil war years) they weren't living in AL (where! I don't know!). I haven't had any luck finding his parents nor any siblings of Isaac. They both died in Lee Co., AL and are buried there. An
2. virus warning [1]
Over a week ago, our computer was infected by a virus, since cleared. I have been off line for over a week because even though it was supposed to have been cleared shortly afterward, I kept getting mail indicating that I was sending out attachements and mail that I didn't send and from old addresses and wrong addresses but all with our name attached. I believe it got onto at least one of the genealogy family sites I list but so far haven't gotten anything to indicate that it has been on your list. It has

Does anyone have any information on Oric (or Orc) McCollum who was born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1854? This is my great Grandfather and I can find no information on him. Dear Listers, I've received the following message to Rosemary Roske back undelivered. I've tried both Capital and lower case 'r' as shown in two versions of her e-mail address. Can anyone please help to get it through to her, if this doesn't work? 6. Re: Daniel's Grave [1]
You're right about the confusing nature of the information on Daniel(s). His pension application said he believed he was born in 1760 in East Jersey and his affidavit sworn to in 1839 said he was 79 and that he had the proof at home. The 1840 census said he was 86 and the 1850 census said he was 83. I know all of this documentation is about one man. I thought that the land information about Daniel in South Carolina could very easily be about more than one man. The assumption about his Scottish

Are any of the recipients of this mailing list descendents of this family? I am trying to work on my Strong family and this is one of the families that are related. Any assistance is appreciated. Christine Rice Harris
8. STAIR CHURCH, AYRSHIRE, SCOTLAND [1]
SCOTLAND, AYRSHIRE. STAIR CHURCH recently put online the Parish Baptismal Register, 1862-1917. There are 1,500 entries (4,000 names). Entries include child's name, father's name, mother's maiden name, father's occupation, address, and date of birth. Unfortunately, it is not indexed. This area is not far from Troon, so, if your ancestors came from this part of Scotland, it may be worth the tedious search through the small print. http://www.stairchurch.homestead.com/ Good luck, Only a Genealogist regards

Regarding Daniel McCollum b 1813 in Morris Co, NJ and d 2/20/1852 in Franklin co, OH. In reading the messages on Daniel McCollum, I find I have a discrepancy. I have that my Daniel McCollum b 1813 was married to a Ruth Buckingham and his parents were Samuel McCollum and Nancy Wells instead of what was stated in the messages on the tombstones. Can someone help sort this out? Are we talking about different Daniel's here? Thank you Florence Allen

Oscar, I'm trying to document each generation of this family. What document are you using that supports who the parents of my Isaac McCullom are? Are you using a Will, Estate Settlement Paper(s), Land record, Bible, etc. to prove the relationship of the people mentioned below? What documents do you have on this Abraham McCullom and what Counties in SC & GA did he leave a paper trail in? Any additional leads or guidance you have that will lead me to finding related documents will be greatly appreciated. T

Hi all, I attempted to send some attachements to the mail list and it appears rootsweb won't let me. You may have received a goofy looking message that included the attachments as raw uncoded MIME data meaning that rootsweb did not convert the docs back to their original form after being received. Ok. I won't bore you with the techie stuff.. Basically I receved a letter from a Wally McCollum and he shared some very interesting documentation on the Daniel McCollum of Habersham Ga including a pic of his son
