Recently came across a novel with the name of Emma Jean McCracken in it. Has a couple of notes about where she attended school. Lived in Mineral Wells Tx. Also note that they had moved to Melrose NM in 1917. Has names that may be siblings; Tom and Elizabeth.

Mary Emma,
You mention a Hugh in your family, do you have one born between 1760 and
1790, who may have gone to Upper Canada, (Ontario)
My gg grandfather was in the 1812 war and married in 1815, and we can't find
where he came from, he died about 1840.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Is anyone familiar with this family? I'm interested in if this

Hello Sharyn,
I don't have info about the ship my husband's McCrackens came on to St. John, NB. Only the fact that they came from Belfast, Ireland, according to research his uncle and other relatives did more than 20 years ago. They've all passes away, so I don't know where they obtained their info. I'm still trying to figure out why Thomas went to Hazelton, PA first from NB, when others in the family went to the Boston area. It would seem there was a connection with some of the PA McCrackens. Thanks fo
Could well be BUT I have no record of your particular McCRACKEN. Especially any James; they are as numerous as pebbles on the beach. Jim (James) McCracken

Hello, Mary Emma -
I lost your message until today, so am just now replying to it.
I am not sure about Hugh as it has not been a family name I've seen with my
McCrackens, but I'm open to anything. I guess that if you have the ship's
information, I might be able to connect it with the ship my McCrackens were
on.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Sharyn Wisely Anderson
