Does anyone on any of these lists have any information on Burns Brothers Brick Company, Excelsior Brick Company and Muth Brothers Copany. I know the first two manufactured brick, obviously, but I don't even know what type of business Muth Brothers was. Any help will be appreciated.

You wouldn't be thinking of the now extinct Silber's Bakery chain would you? I think a lot of bakeries in Baltimore now make great peach cakes. There is a small, local bakery in Arbutus and I have heard people rave about the peach cakes from there.

There were a couple of them. One was a place called Arthurs. I think it was in
"Jewtown."

The Muth Brothers are mentioned at this URL, possibly they could help identify them.

Helen: I remember two when I was growing up and out in South Baltimore.
The one closest to me was in the 17 hundred block of Hanover Street. It
was Simon's Bakery and the peach cake and smearkaiss (sp?) plus little jelly
pies and doughnuts were NOT on the weight watchers list of the top ten.
But, oh how delicious. I remember standing outside at night waiting until 8
or 9 o'clock in the evening when everything came straight from the oven.
Simon's was also open early in the morning and you could get hot
