Those aren't plot numbers, they are page numbers for the Tombstone Inscriptions book. They are not likely to be of much help if you contact the cemetery.

Kathi, Would you know how to access the records you mentioned? Do you know if they are on the internet? I live in Mississippi so I doubt I'll ever be able to travel to Maryland to actually look at cemeteries or actual records. St James Parish (also called Herring Creek Parish) took in all of Herring Creek Hundred and part of the West River Hundred. It basically took in the southern part of Anne Arundel County below West River and Muddy Creek. St James Church today is located on Rt 2 (Solomon Island Road) Lothian, Maryland (Anne Arundel Co.) http://www.rootsweb.com/~mdannear/hist.htm Most of the early records are probably kept in Annapolis at MD State Archives. Mel: Do you have names? At the bottom of the first page of the MD Tombstone Transcription Project http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/maryland.html you can search all the text archives for a particular name, in a county or the state. We are in process of adding all the names from the photo transcriptions to the searchable archives as well. Other information can help too, like church affiliation. ===== Kathi Jones-Hudson MD Tombstone Transcription Project Manager http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/maryland

Dear Pat, I am interested in the same people mentioned in the previous query. Is or was there a place called Garrison Fort close to you? 21. [MD-CEM] look-ups for St James [1]
Hello all, Our list certainly has been busy lately! I can do look-ups for St James Parish, Anne Arundel County, 17th and 18th centuries. Source is "Anne Arundel County Church Records of the 17th and 18th Centuries" by F Edward Wright. One note concerning dates from the book: "Please note that in colonial Maryland the calendar year began with March 25th. This meant that March was the first month, April was the second month, etc. Note that January 1730 followed December 1730. To avoid confusion a slash

I believe I read somewhere where the records of Holy Rosary were now being maintained by Sacred Heart of Jesus: 7401 German Hill Rd Baltimore, Md 21222-1347 410-284-0648 Holy Rosary is right next door at: 7305 German Hill Road Dundalk, Baltimore Co., MD Hope this helps, Shelley Arnold

There is still a St. James Parish in Anne Arundel County. It is located on Rt. 2 South (Solomons Island Road) in what was called Old Herring Creek. It is an Episcopal Church. Was one of the original Anglican/Church of England Churches (1763). It is not too far from where I live. If I get a chance (and it's not raining) I will take a trip down there and see if I can find the cemetery. > Looking for St. James Parish in Anne Arundel County, MD. >Does anyone know if there was a church?
