I usually thank volunteers OFF site (rather than add bulk for future
word-searches). However, Abby deserves special mention for transcribing
AND sending images in a Richardson search, and for crossing state lines and
spotting hints for other familial relationships in a Parsons search.
Her explanation about missing people in subsequent Censi was very
thorough, too. I will keep it for cut and paste, with her name on it,
plus print it here.

I am brand new to this list, and to searching Baltimore, Maryland. I have
just discovered, to my surprise, that my ancestors were Baltimore
natives. Is there someone who would look for: John Davis, his brother
Robert McGuinn Davis, Jr. and/or their father John McGuinn Davis, Sr, and
mother Catherine TRENTON Davis...c. 1800-1860, in Baltimore, Maryland in
the census?
All I know is that John Davis was born c. 1817 in Baltimore. I assume it
means the city of Baltimore. He later moved to New Orleans,
The only William Riley in Baltimore at about the right age (I checked 65-70
based on the b-day you gave) is living as a lodger, with no other family
members. He is age 67, born MD, parents born MD. I also searched for Ella
but did not find her. Maybe he was living with one of his children? The
index on Ancestry is not an every-name index, so if he was living with
another family by the name of Riley, he would not come up in the index.

I went back to the LDS site. They do have the two William's. The rest of the family doesn't match though. (thought I was losing my mind there for a minute when the indexes didn't seem to match!).

In 1790, probably in or near where Salisbury is today, do you see a Jehu or
Jonathan Parsons family? I know it wasnt called Wicomico county until
maybe mid-1800s.
Thanks, genie-buddies!
The house before has
Rebecca Bloxsom Dau W Female W 38 MD At Home MD MD
and the house before that has
Sarah A. Pearson Self W Female W 60 MD At Home MD MD
My guess would be that Sarah Pearson could be the mother of
Rebecca and Anna.
If you browse much further and look at more households, you'll notice that there are several other cases like yours.
As for a reason why, at first I thought it was that the household was listed on the end of one page and the beginning of the next
page, but that doesn't seem

None of the census indexes on Ancestry or Genealogy.com are finding any Basil Warfield's in Baltimore. I looked at all of the ones that they did come up with, but none have an age that would even come within 5 years of the date you indicated. Also, none have a wife named Julia. I also did a search on Julia, but did not find anything. Sorry....
