The Lewis line is connected to the Ludwig(2) line of Washington Co, Md. However the connection to the particular son has not been made. It is my supposition that he is definitely a grandson of Ludwig. Do you have any info related to this possibility. I have found that when I research the 1840 census for Frederick City people, they come up in Frederick, Dorchester, Maryland. I can't tell what the actual county is on the census images because they do not have the enumerator, date, county, or state but I know that they lived in Frederick county and go on with it. I use Ancestry.com.

Does anyone have an idea why Ancestry.com and some of the usgenweb Maryland census records say that the city of Frederick is in Dorchester county? I have several people that I know were from Buckeystown, Middletown, and Frederick (that we know today) that appear in these Frederck/Dorchester lists. Any ideas?
