We have a Philip Bier born abt. 1675 that came from France, changed name to
Boyer while in Germany arrived in New York, had a son name John, abt 1702...
Know your Roots, they are Long and Strong..
Shirley, in my bones, just an expression; I have researched for myself and
others for 30 years.
The only clue I have to any of my ancestor's people is that in an 1880
Illinois census, he said his father was born in Maryland and his mother in
Pennsyl. I have no idea of names for either. None of my distant cousins has
any information. John died in 1903, born in Ohio, lived Ky. and Texas and
back to Illinois- to Fayette Co in 1861. He is buried in Fayette Co.
I have had little info in Ohio. scarlett1@bws
Hi Genealogy Friend,
I am trying to find out more about William Robert Howe and his wife, Ann Strider. They were married on June 13, 1778 in Frederick County, Maryland. William is the son of Edward Howe of Baltimore, Md. I don't know about Ann Strider. What I need to know is if William and Ann had any children. Also, I can't find them on any census in Maryland or otherwise.
They might be the parents of James Howe of Frederick County who married Martha (Patty) Ragan.
If anyone has any info on Willi

Hi,
It looks like your going to need more than just feeling it in your bones, you need names and dates at least to have some place to start your research. That is where I'd suggest you start, compiling the info you do have, and go from there.

Could you send me that URL so I can look up some of my ancestors who were

Hi, sounds like it could be. I have seen Booker for Booher, Bugher for
Booher and even Booger! I don't know how one would figure it out. I just
know my ancestor was from Frederick, feel it in my bones, don't really know
it! Now what???

[Posted to the Genie-Angels list by Terri Walker]
If you've put off getting vital records documents for family members who
were born or died in California, now is the time to get moving.
Informational copies of California birth and death certificates will become
more difficult to obtain after January 1, 2006.
After that date, according to the State of California website, INFORMATIONAL

Last night we updated the FamilyHart database with over 7,000 new names
bringing the total number of linked names online to over 440,000. Most of these
names are of Pennsylvania Dutch extraction. The families are found
throughout the U.S. however; in every state of the Union. To see if your families may
be in our database, please take a look at:

FYI- Right now we are concentrating on entering Kauffman-Coffman families.
We have a long ways to go

Could you give us some dates please. Even if you just have to say that you
think he was born ABOUT a certain year.
Hi BG,
I have a William Woodford (1771 - ?) married to Fanny Howe. His father
was Gen. William Woodford and her father was reportedly Gen. William
Howe. They were co-commanders of a regiment. at Valley Forge. Does this
match anything you have in your Howe line?

I use Heritage Quest to look up Census Information. This is a service that
is available through my local library. You might want to check a library in
your area to see if they have this service available.

Have you used Williams "History of Frederick County", Volume II?
Although I haven't seen anything which ties your information
into theirs, there are biographies for the Tyler family, the Belt family
and the Addison family. Some of the names are similar to those you
mentioned and the dates are just several months apart.

Hi Mae, Thank you ever so much for looking into this. I wish I were
related to the "General William Howe", but I don't think that is the right
line, but I don't know for sure. This gives me something to look into. BG
