I sent this message to someone researching the Tongue family, but since there is so much discussion about it, I'm gonna send it to the list. In the book "History of Calvert County, Maryland" by Charles Francis Stein, there is an section on the Tongue family of Maryland who had their origin in Yorkshire, England. Samuel came from Charles County and then moved to Loudoun County Virginia with the rest of his family prior to 1800, I think.
