Thanks for the info. The birth date you have would appear to be that of my husband's relative. I can't imagine how he ended up in Maryland but my husband has a vague memory of visiting someone in that area as a child. Jacob had another sister, Minnie (Wilhelmina?) who was born in Jan. 1890. I'm st

Hi Ruth,
The Jacob Zierl in Caroline Co., MD married Mary Della Andrew (1898-2000), a relative of mine. According to the WWI draft registration card of Jacob Zierl of Caroline Co., MD he was born on 15 Sept. 1895 in New York City, New York. I hope this has helped.

Hi Karen,
I have Bill Tribbett at ZSnakeyez@bellsouth.net. I haven't "talked"
(email) to him for a year or so.
I have one more attachment to send you on Hezekiah Dill - his mother,
Unity Edwards's parentage. Are you interested? That, plus what I sent
you, would give you all that I know about Hezekiah's ancestry. I am
still putting Sally Dunning's ancestry together. Your Dunning info here
is helpful.

DEFINITIONS OF SOME WORDS USED IN EARLY DOCUMENTS
Von Mings Stachon has been transcribing and contributing court records,
deeds and wills for several counties in Virginia. So far, she has
completed 562 documents and is still going. In the process, she has
collected a list of words that appear in these documents whose meanings may
not be known by the average reader. These words and their definitions may
be seen at:

Can you tell me what is the definition of the title 'Tabellion'?
This was a position my 2 Gr. grandfather, Samuel Hughes held in Kent county, DE. in the mid 19th century.
