There are some Andrew(s) in the index of Ken Carroll's book Joseph
Nichols and the Nicholites (like a William and a Cecilia) -- you might
try to obtain the Carroll books from the library and take a look and see
what is written about the Quaker / Nicholite Andrew(s) . His other book
that pertains is "Quakerism on the Eastern Shore".

I am descended from the Dorchester/Caroline County John Andrew family via my
2nd great grandfather William Russell Andrew. William was born 10 Apr 1791
to Samuel and Eleanor (Newton) Andrew at Potter's Landing on the Choptank
River. Since his father died before his birth, he was reared by his oldest

Sandusky County, Ohio where he farmed until his death in 1874.

Thanks for your responses and your thoughts. Does anyone have any knowledge

birth location (Potters Landing) of my 2nd great grandfather, William Russell

not of the Quaker faith but could be wrong.

I have recently obtained a copy of the Caroline County, Maryland--1800 Census. I am willing to do look-ups. This census, as with most of this time, lists the head of house hold and then the number of other aged people in the house, but no names of others in the house. This census is also listed alphabetically, so it does not tell where in Caroline County these folks lived.

I am researching the parents of Thomas Andrew (1824-1900), died in Caroline
County, Hynson Cemetery. Was married to Louisa Alford and may have been
born in Dorchester County, but I cannot find his parents.
Thomas and Louisa had Albert T. Andrew, who had Virgil Lee Andrew, who had
my father, Richard Lee Andrew.
I'm not sure if that census is on ancestry or not. I purchased it from a
vendor on Ebay.

Patti,,
Glad to hear from you again and I keep plugging away on the Andrew family.
I recently obtained a copy of Colonial Famiies of the Eastern Shore of MD
Vol 16 which breaks out the John Andrew family starting in 1600's through seven
generations including Dorchester and Caroline Counties, Samuel and his
family included. Many land transactions and Wills overviews (summary of Samuel's
Will) are noted in this book but I do not recall the Mar. 1788 for 32 or 35
acres in Caroline Co. One of Sa
