The State of Nevada is sponsoring the 26 BYLAWS changes discussed and
developed by the USGW membership on USGenWeb-ALL -L.
These changes are NOT the same as the ones being discussd by the bylaws
committee.
I have coordinated this grass-roots effort to improve the structure of the
USGenWeb Project. I and the those who have contributed have worked over a
month in fine tuning these proposals.
In order for the MEMBERS to have a chance to look these over and decide if
these are what they want, ie: VO

If you send me a copy I'd be glad to post it on my website so that people

Thanks!

Hi Mel, I found the Historical Society very helpful, as far as info was
needed. I also stopped at the library, and the courthouse since I had made
the trip. I believe it was at the library that I found the books on it
being noted, as ,the marriage capitol. It was a long day for me, and it was
awhile ago, so I am a little confused on this. Good luck in your search.

I would like a copy of that picture also, I think my gggggrandfather could
also have possibly be wed there. They were from Frederick, Maryland. and/or
Haney/Taney town area. If that proves correct then it would be a nice asset
to our family tree.

Hi Mary Ellen, I was just at the MD State Archives in Annapolis, and I was
looking for my grgrandfather death record. He lived in Md., but died in
Pa., and I was told that it wouldn't be there, but in the state on which he
died. I travelled to Pa., and just to be told that it would be in
Annapolis. That it always is in the state that they are a resident of. If
you can look him up when you go there I would really appreciate it. His
name is John Wesley Miller, and he died 9/1/1924. I need to know what h

I would appreciate any information on the DeVaughn family,
particularly Wm. DeVaughn born in Md. I have no dates unfortunately. I only
know that my father, also Wm. DeVaughn was b. Wash.D.C. 1892, his mother,
Lillian Sledge DeVaughn, b. about 1876 in Va(?). My father was on the NY
Census 1920 with his mother,Lillian, father was not on there. I assume he
died(no date)before 1910, as he is not on the census in NYC then either. I
don't know when they moved from Wash.,D.C.
Any help appreciated,

TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND RELATIVES:
I have just been through a harrowing experience. Even though I make it a practice NOT to open any suspicious e-mails, I now find out you don't always have to click on an attachment to get a virus. It seems as though I must have unknowingly received one even though I have Norton Antivirus. Apparently, some dastardly individual knew how to remove my virus protection, got into my address book and sent a message to all. I hope and pray you did not contact that virus. When
There was an article in the National Geographic a couple of months ago about
Elkton, MD the "marriage Capitol of the world"! I looked online but can't
find the article on the National Geographic website. If you're interested
you probably can find a copy of it in your local library.

Unless there are two Elkton's, I don't think that is correct.

Hi -
If they died in the City of Baltimore the records are avaiable at the State
Archives from 1875-1987; for the Maryland Counties 1898 - 1987..
Hope this helps...

Why do you say the 1906 may be a problem? Can a certificate be ordered by
mail if you do not know the month and day of death, only the year?
