Jacqui,
First, there were many funeral homes in Baltimore and I suspect that many of
them buried in Lorraine Park Cemetery. I'm not sure what the list will tell
you. The funeral home was listed on each death certificate. Finding a
particular death certificate would be more direct and usually easier than
guessing from a list of funeral homes.
Second, you can get a list of funeral homes (or any other type of business)
in the City Directories. Heritage Quest has the Baltimore City Directories
for 1899, 19

Likely guess would be the Cedar Hill in Anne Arundel
as it is closer to Baltimore City than the one in PG
Co. The address is 5829 Gov Ritchie Hwy, Brooklyn, AA
Co., MD. I don't know anything about the office there,
how cooperative they area, etc. Suggest you go to the
very small transcription we have and contact the
submitter and see what he says.

Eric is very helpful and might be able to talk to you
about this cemetery.

Info states that Maryland Middlesex 100 are recorded in the Baltimore minutes
of court 1772-1781. It may have something to do with the Oath of Allegiance.

Thanks for your help.
A giant thank you to Margaret for the Baltimore Hundred info.
May we please have a similar delineation for Prince George's
County? Also does anyone have the 'History of Fleur de'Hundred'?
I'm told a Capt. John WILCOX(ON) married into that family.

Does someone have a copy of the HEIRS & ORPHANS: Anne Arundel Co, 1788-1838?
I am in need of a lok-up. The name would be Georgeanne/Georgianne

I am searching for lists of Maryland State Fair Winners from 1939-1981.
My grandmother won quite a few ribbons during this time period, but
neglected to ever note on the back of the ribbon what she won them for
(where space is provided to do just that - argh!). The ribbons were
largely won for single flowers or flower arrangements. I know some of
the winners' names were published in the Baltimore Sun in the 60's, but
I'm hoping not to have to sit in front of microfilm machines at the
Pratt library
One of my ancestors died at New City Hospital and is buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery. His former
address was 1710 Belt Avenue, City of Baltimore. He stayed at the hospital for 7 months and then
died.
Would this be the same Cedar Hill Cemetery in PG County or in Anne Arundel? Has
anyone had any expereince asking the main office for info?
I am looking for MCKNEW, BASIL who died November 18, 1917. He was 85 years old.
Thank you,

Linda,
Thank you for your submissions to the Courthouse Experiences website.
I am sure they will be helpful to anyone planning on researching at the
various counties and states.
I have found out that some Courthouses do read these comments and a few have
made changes to correct some of the problems.

For City Directories and many other useful publications for genealogy and
history:
Heritage Quest has a great library of hundreds, maybe thousands, of books
online. Many libraries have subscribed to it, including the Maryland
Public
Library System. I believe you can access it at any Maryland Public
Library,
or access it at home with a valid library card from any Maryland Public
Library. For Marylanders, the web site is:

I am still researching the Devan surname in Frederick Maryland in the mid to
late 1700s. I believe a female Devan worked for the Simpson family
specifically Richard Simpson either Sr or Jr. I believe that this female
Devan would have been an indentured servant or a servant of some sort. This
servant did bear an illegitimate child while employed in the Simpson
household.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
