Benjamin Oden of Montgomery County was not related to
Benjamin Oden - H. Priscilla Waring of Prince George's
County. The former and Catherine Kinder were married
30 Dec 1812 in Montgomery County. Catherine died in
1824. Benjamin Oden of Prince George's County's two
sons died young and childless.
Benjamin Oden of Montgomery County was probably related
to Zacharian Oden of Montgomery County based on a notarized
document obtained from the Hall of Records at the Maryland
State Archives as follows:

Mary,
I don't know anything about the children of John Burdette and Ettie Layton,
but I do have information on Etties line back. Her parents are Obediah
Stillwell Layton and Sarah King. Obediah's parents are John Layton and
Catherine Hinton. John Layton's parents are Asher Layton and Sarah Ward. I
have good bit of information on the Hintons but I have never fit Catherine
into the tree I have. If you need anything else let me know.

Descendants labor to revive Tenley Cemetery by Beth Cope Current Staff Writer
Last month, 8-year-old Sarah Carroll visited her great-great-great-great grandfather Charles King's grave in Tenleytown. And she didn't just bring flowers. Carroll and members of her family came to the Methodist Cemetery armed with lawn mowers, weed trimmers and gloves - and they plan to try to revive the 150-plus-year-old graveyard.
I'm looking for any and all information on the Shahan, Sheehan, Shaon and any
other phonetic spellings of the Sheehan name in Montgomery County in the mid
1700s. Given names associated with the family are David, Eleanor, Lurana,
Richard, James and possibly the surname Singleton. There may also be a
connection to the Baltimore area at that time. This branch of the family
show up in the Bedford Co. VA area around 1790.......a little earlier, a
little later.
Thanks so much.

Hi Eleanor,
Right now I can't get back beyond PA.
Dorothy Walsh (rootsweb file #merrygo says born 1704 PA) married William
Huddleston and they had a daughter, Hannah Huddleston, 1744-1826 who married
Richard Tomlinson. They had at least five (5) children including a son,
Henry Tomlinson, 1759 in Bucks Co, PA - 1829 Montgomery Co, MD who married
Annie Paxson. I have nothing more about Dorothy nor do the rootsweb files
show here antecedents. So it would be a real break through to find more.
Eleanor, do y

Would anyone have information, or remember the Buchanan Estate on Lay Hill Road? I do know that it was there in 1937 and still there in 1952.
I moved from the Sandy Spring area in 1952, and would love to know if the estate is still there. Have tried to research, but nothing comes up.
There was a long, tree lined drive up to the barn on the right and the large home on the left. Also, several other houses were on the estate. The Curtis family lived in one of the homes.
