1. [MDPGEORG] Re: [MDCHARLE-L] BERRY discussion [1]
Hello Janet, I am sory to say I can be of no help with the Berrys either. I go back to my g.g.grandfather Judge Thomas Baker Berry and have his children of course. The ones you mentioned are not among them but I would be willing to bet they are of some kin. One day we folks looking for our Berry lines will fiind a breakthrough. I have recieved info here and there about the Berrys and Berry lines, but none of which mentioned my g.g.granfather Berry, or at least said who his parents were. One day.
2. [MDPGEORG] Re: [MDCHARLE-L] Calvert and Lord Baltimore [1]
Hello, So Lord Baltimore was actually a Mr. Calvert. Isn't that a heck of a note: I find out the Lord Baltimore I am descended from was actually a Calvert (this is all on my dad's side in Maryland). And in my research on my mom's mom's dad's "White" side of the family in South Carolina I read where after my g.g.grandfather John Warren White was killed in the Civil War, his wife, my g.g.grandmother Isabella Jane (McDowell) White remarried a man by the name of James H. Calvert in 1866 and they and

Does anyone have access for a lookup? I am researching Orville Louis Turley (b. 7 Jan. 1891) who died in August 1967 but lived around Berwyn, Berwyn Heights, or College Park. I only have his SSI info but would appreciate a notice of death or any other available information. Thanks in advance - John

5. [MDPGEORG] Info on Maj. Wheeler's wife found!! [1]
Hey Y'all, A couple of people have asked me where I got the info about Maj. John Wheeler's wife being actaully the daughter of Rev. Phillip Edelen in England, Rev. Edelen being the father of Richard Edelen who came to Md in 1664. I found it in the mdcharle-L@rootsweb.com archives. it was Norma Thompson who told me that. Here is the link where you can read the old e-mails where I got the info: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/MDCHARLE/2002-03/1015078422. I hope this info is of some h

8. [MDPGEORG] Re: [MDCHARLE-L] Re: [Middleton] Middleton/Holland Connection [1]
Hello Shirley, I just sent an e-mail to that Middleton list you mentioned and asked to be put on it as I am descended from them as well. Are there lists like these for the Edelen, Montgomery, Berry, Rodgers or what ever and other families as well? If so, I am interested in them too. Take care, Dave ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shirley" To: Sent: Tuesday, June 17, 2003 9:30 AM Subject: [MDCHARLE-L] Re: [Middleton] Middleton/Holland Connecti
9. [MDPGEORG] Re: Some Census Records' Districts [1]
David Try going to the USGS GNIS web site http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form and enter the information concerning the various towns you mentioned, the state, and county, and select "populated place" in the feature type. I found both Middletown and Beantown (there were two Middletowns) and selected the option to show feature location. The maps located the towns' locations in relation to Waldor

Hello Barbara and Cynthia, Thanks for your help and those links y'all sent, but everytime I click on them a page finally appears saying "page cannot be reached", etc.. Ever since I got this new computer with windows xp, I have had all sorts of little aggrevations and problems that I didn't seem to have with my old computer and my old Windows 95 with Nestscape 4.0 or what ever it was. 11. [MDPGEORG] Connection to Lord Baltimore?? [1]
Hey Y'all, I have an idea that I figured I would run by someone here that might also be connected and thereby have some info: As y'all already know I am sure, I have been trying to find the parents or line of my g.g.grandfather, Judge Thomas Baker Berry (I hope I haven't worried y'all all slap to death). Anyway, I remember one of my Berry great aunts, Margaurite Berry Tubman, who was the one knowledgeable in all things family history, saying that we were related or descended from Lord Baltimore

15. [MDPGEORG] Obit from 1897 [1]
How might I find an obit for someone who lived in Cheltenham and died in 1897? His name was General John W. Horn and he was postmaster of Cheltenhame and was the first superintendant of the "House of Refuge for Colored Children," so there ought to be an obituary somewhere. What newspapers might have covered that area back then, and how do I access them?

17. [MDPGEORG] Where on earth are all the other descendents of Judge Thomas Baker Berry!!?? [1]
Hey Y'all, I can't help wondering where on earth are all the other descendents of Judge Thomas Baker Berry!!?? Where are all my Berry relatives, both distant and far, out there!!!??? Am I the only one that seems interested or knowledgable in our family lines!! I am stuck on Judge Berry and can't seem to find out who his parents or Berry line are! I have heard a couple of things but have had no proof, etc.. It is hard for me to believe that I am the only one of his descendents interested in my li
18. [MDPGEORG] Cecy, a little more of our family history: [1]
Hello Cecy, Thanks for the compliment. You are right about some of my people and ancestors and family history being "impressive" as you put it. I too have in fact felt that it was all sort of special or somewhat to be proud of I reckon. My grandmother Edelen and her sisters (Berrys) used to tell all sorts of interesting things about "our people". Cecy, here are a few tidbits of info you might find interesting: My grandmother, Mrs. David Middleton Edelen, was born Eloise Gilmore Berry
19. [MDPGEORG] Eglin, Harrison, Pierce [1]
On 11 December 1771, John and William ELGIN and Richard PIERCE witnessed the will of Richard HARRISON, Jr. (Internet "lore" says that Richard Harrison married Elizabeth SMALLWOOD.) presumably in Charles County since it is recorded there in WB 38:553. Is there a family connection between the Harrisons, Eglins and Pierce? I am trying to discover if this is the same Richard Pierce who married Susanna Estep in 1787 is southern PG County. Thank you for ANY clues--Richard has been a solid dead end--does no
20. [MDPGEORG] some census records' districts? [1]
Hello all, I have a question for you residents of Charles and Pr. Georges Co, Md. or who ever might know:: Check out the census records below, which is an excerpt from my Berry file. There are several townships and districts listed. Are they very far apart and totally different areas or is it all talking about basically one area that he (Judge Thom. B. Berry) lived in? I reckon he could have moved around some over the years too though. Look at all the children of Judge Berry! That is
21. [MDPGEORG] JOHN BOONE OF THE CLIFFS [1]
Hello List, Is there anyone on this list that is the descendant of JOHN BOONE OF THE CLIFFS, CALVERT CO., MD., and his descendants that lived in PRINCE GEORGE'S CO., MD., and CHARLES CO., MD? Rev. Edward Boone in his book, states that JOHN BOONE OF THE CLIFFS died ca 1689, Calvert Co., MD. His widow Grace remarried to Robert Brooke. Berks Peerage and Kenneth Rutherford state that JOHN BOONE OF THE CLIFFS IS THE SON OF JOHN BOONE OF GREENWICH IN COUNTY KENT AND MARY HANDLEY. >From what I've seen it lo
22. [MDPGEORG] This is what happened to the graveyard on the Middleton Property! [1]
Hello all, Recently some of us corresponded about the old graveyard on Dr. Alexius Middleon's property. It was probably there before he came into that property and could have been on it when his father owned it. Anyway, a relative of mine, a Fisher, who is also descended from Dr. Middleton, answered a written letter about it. He said in the letter that the owners had bulldozed the old graveyard. Some of my people were in that grave yard!!! And by God if and when I get my Alabama arse up to Charl
23. [MDPGEORG] Pics [1]
Hello all, Speaking of pics, I would love to find pics of Joseph Benidict Edelen, Charles Jenkins Edelen, David Middleton Edelen (my grandfather, his father and grandfather), or Judge Thomas Baker Berry and family. I have no pics, have never seen any pics of any of these people other than a tiny snapshot of my grandfather David Middleton Edelen and great grandfather Thadeus Clifford Berry. If any one by any slim chance has any pics of the people named above, or knows anyone who does,
24. [MDPGEORG] Anyone descended from this particular Pr. Georges County family of Edelens (females married Badens, Sunstones, Spadalas, Webbs)? [1]
Hello all, Below is an excerpt from my "Edelen Family File" I put together. I was wondering if anyone out there might be descended from or know of anyone descended from the particular Edelen family below? The family listed is my great grandparents and their children, which is of course my grandfather and all his siblings. I am descended from their son David Middleton Edelen. I grew up in Alabama so never met any of my Maryland relatives, other than a couple of first cousins and the sons of Mabel
25. [MDPGEORG] Middletons: A question about Sarah Sienna Middleton? [1]
Hello, My great great Grandfather Dr. Alexius Llewellyn Middleton had a young sister who died at the age of 18 (or so I was told). They were very close and her death was terribly hard on him. Does anyone know anything about this or why or from what cause she died? I am just curious and would like to add it to my Middleton file. Thanks, David Middleton Edelen II Alabama ---------------------------------------------- What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born
