My elderly aunt told me that in 1930 my grandparents lived just out side of
DC in PG county across from the lumber yard.
Pyles Lumber Company used to be in Camp Springs, Prince George's County,
Maryland, about 5 miles from the DC line, at Branch Avenue (now called Old
Branch Avenue) and Allentown Road. It's only a couple of miles from Andrews Air
Force Base, which might have been called something else in the 1930s. The
building burned a few years ago and the Pyles family closed down the busi

Good thought ... Don't know where I got it!
>> Col. Joseph Belt s/o Benjamin died 1773 is married to a Smith.
Would that be Esther age 53 [b.c.1723] George Town Hundred, FredCo. per
1776 census ... Could I have the documentation on her being a Smith.
Many thanks for your help!

I am searching for any mention of Samuel Evans b. 1691 in Calvert Co., Maryland, m. #1 Sarah c. 1707 and #2 Priscilla c. 1725 ( no last name names known at this time). Samuel Evans d. between 1770 -1776. Samuel Evans was the son of Richard Evans and Elizabeth Hall (d/o Richard Hall and Elizabeth)
There is a great deal of question about just how many children he fathered (counts range from 22 to 25!).
The Samuel Evans in question appears:
Marriages and Births - Queen Anne's Parish (1700s), Prince George
Shirley,
Thanks for the William Smith will ... somehow I had missed it.
I don't have a will for Jos. Belt or his wife Esther, only an inventory

filed at Rockville 12 Aug 1793 and amounted to #309.12.13. Middleton
Belt was his administrator. [MD Hist Mag. v.VIII (1913) article by

Hello Janet and Ann and List,
In my research of Benjamin Belt, Sr. that d 1773 in Prince George's Co.,
MD., and his family I have found only that one transaction between Benjamin
Belt and Wm Middleton. I know that the name of Middleton is continually
given throughout the Belt family, but have found solid proof of a connection
or that Benjamin's wife was even a Middleton. Has anyone seen a source
stating her given name was Elizabeth? I have not, if anyone has, will they
give it to the list so w
I have Benjamin Belt, Jr. married to Ruth Middleton, b. 1712, d/o Wm
Middleton, Sr. and Elizabeth Tears.
Others have him married to Ruth Harris. Check Mike Marshall's entry on

Does anyone have any idea what the name of this area was called in 1930?
Thank you

Janet,
Here is the only documentation I have to place Joseph Belt as being married
to Esther Smith d/o Wm Smith. In his will William Smith calls Joseph Belt
his son-in-law. I've not researched this family at all, so this is all I've
got on this couple. Do you have a will for Joseph or his wife Esther?

I hope this is the right place to respond. My grandparent's
(Dulaney) lived right next door to a lumber yard in Seat Pleasant. The
name
was Watkins Lumber Yard and it was on 67th Place in S.P. My grandpop used to
be
a policeman in Seat Pleasant and also used to go in the office at Watkins
each
evening to turn the town lights on. Each time we saw the street lights come
on,
we'd say, "There's Grandpop"!!!!! There was also a coal yard across the
street
which was alongside the railroad tracks.

I have Eliz Middleton (b.c.1689-d.bef 21 Sep 1745) as the wife of
Benjamin Belt (b.1682-d.1773) but I'm wondering if that's accurate. One
of her children was named Middleton Belt and in 1719 Benj Belt bought
"Godfather's Gift" from William Middleton and his wife Elizabeth of Chas
Co. though it wasn't a gift. The Middleton name is used in subsequent
generations.
However Sharon Doliante, "Maryland & Virginia Colonials" p.29 suggests
she may be a Smith, but the will of Samuel Smith (from whom Benj Belt
